It's up now, and regardless of what server we play what's one thing we all have in common? We use reddit, we aren't going to exactly be split up and that will remain your primary source of information along with ToSBASE. Just this humble palico's two cents.

Unless more people vote in that strawpoll I can't take it to mean much at the moment, for the rest of you in the group vote as you will. Historically in MMO's the first server tends to be the most popular, second server where theorycrafters and the like go. In this case Laima and Gabija.

Just something interesting to keep in mind.

Azebu as im sure you know this is a beta. Ibc2 will only last for a little less than one month and then be wiped. This group has been made for the final release of the game and our main goal for this beta test is to find a server that everyone can play on. For the final release of the game you can rest assured that we will take into consideration what the subreddit wants to do as well as have a vote as to which server to pick. If you really want to you can make a quick strawpoll and have the group vote on it. If the administrators agree then we can change the server for the beta.

As stated before, we chose a server as members of the subreddit before these polls came out. We cannot help it if other people do not join our group and create a separate thread and reach a different conclusion. I'm sorry if you are not happy with the results, if you would like to organize a vote among the members here to change, go ahead, but I encourage you to wait until the beta starts. Also, everyone cannot be on the same server when there was over 200,000 keys registered, at least that's the figure I last heard, in any case there are too many for one server.

How do you suppose I am spreading "wrong information"? If you had trouble with any of the instructions such as finding the IP, let me know and I will fix it. As for the server location, I made it very clear that I'm not making any positive claims. I'm saying let's not jump to conclusions and just wait until launch to find out. I explained some of my own speculation about the results, but gave people enough info to reach their own conclusions. I even clearly said that DB-IP results might not be the correct geolocation. I'm merely trying to snuff out people's assumptions and introduce some healthy skepticism into the community.

Noone can know for sure where the servers are from waht I've read, I beleive arthur.science did a big write up on this as well in the announcments section. From my limited knowledg eon the subject as I understand it, what it essentially boils down to is diffeerent results comign back for different people. Regardless of what server this specific group goes I don't see much of a difference if we play with the folks from ToSBASE or, reddit, or any other group for that matter. The main purpose is just to have people to play with.

That being said all information will bleed back to reddit and ToSBase, this is just one more outlet for an interest we all share.

We made our choice for Laima before many people on reddit said they were going to Gabija. Based on the number of keys given out there are going to be a TON of people to interact with on any server. I'm inclined to keep our choice as is, because I don't want to confuse members that aren't looking at every single comment; however, if the majority of members vote for another server then of course we will change. I just want everyone to be on the same page.

In a bit I'll make an announcement trying to summarize info about the servers and some of the hasty conclusions made by people on the forums.

Ill start on Laima, but ill probably try out Zemyna as well. In the mid-west here so I'll be trying each one to test out latency.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed and contradictory info on server locations. IMC staff on the forums posted what dabBlu3. posted here: that servers are in US, implying that ALL of them are, so it may suck for EU regardless. I get a lot of mixed results when I query for IP location on the IP's someone posted in the forums. Depending on what ip locating system you use you can get results that say Ashburn, VA for all of them, I've seen Seattle, WA for Zemyna, and Paris, France for Gabija. So it could be a PST/EST/EU thing, or they could all be in the US. They're using Amazon Web Services for hosting no doubt and there is probably some funny business going on with relaying that obscures the ip location. All of that being said, I think we should just choose Laima, because in all scenarios I see, it's the best middle ground for uniting us all.

So this means that Europeans will ping 100ms roughly to the server. So we need to decide on which server. :)

Howdy all. In case of all servers being east coast, would my ping suffer for it, with me being from Europe and such? Hyped so far though. Not really sure on what class to pick... probably a cryo/chrono support cc kinda thing.

I'm here Fam. :^) What server we playing on? I would suggest the top most server, Laima I think it is? They're all int he same region I believe some redditer found out, don't quote me on that though.

Not sure, I guess it depends on what the difference is (probably location). As far as I know there hasn't been any information released on these servers except for the screenshot that redditor took of the names.
