10 gem for one Emoticon and 10 gem for an Background?
Thats an total scam (In my opinion)
Because:
1k gem is cost about 0.34 $
One of background or emoticon cost about 0.04 $
With 0.34 $, you can buy 4$ background.

In theory you are almost true but they go for 0.03€ and after taxes you only get 0.01€ so I technically could get 1€ from them. But not every Emoticon/Background are marketable and others sells very rarely.
