What happens now?

Hello, everybody. I hope your year since the shutdown of the QX Community has been a good one. I don't know why I waited until now to post this, but here goes nothing.

What I learned from my year leading the QX Community is that I am definitely not fit for any sort of leadership role, despite my confidence beforehand. My inability to maintain user interest in the site, Sino's constant trolling and my inability to pay for the site's bills are what ultimately killed off the QXComm. While I appreciate that Sino did ultimately leave me alone after the QXComm shutdown announcement (he was that Gunn guy), he in no way, shape or form helped me maintain user interest in the site, instead driving away users (then pinning the blame on me) and upon retrospect, I agree with the general consensus that he should have remained banned. I also, admittedly, made a lot of mistakes, and feel like all that hard work trying to maintain a community that fell apart faster than I could say "Twilight Sparkle" 20 times was for nothing. It was more of a learning experience, if you ask me, but I don't think I'll be resuming leadership of an entire, paid-for website any time soon. Maybe a moderation role on MLP Forums, but that depends on what the existing staff of that site think. At least I won't have to pay for that site!

Also, I have a feeling that the StopForumSpam installation was broken, hence why a lot of spambots were able to get through. Bleh.

I have decided to shut down the QX Community.

The serious lack of activity, high hosting costs and the pressure leading a community (which has started to lead to me behaving badly elsewhere too) have made it hard for me to justify keeping up the QX Community. Personally, I want to thank everyone here for the past year. It wasn't the greatest all the time, yes, and my behavior definitely could have been better, that is also a given, but ultimately it became harder and harder for me to justify keeping a sinking ship afloat. I hope you all understand.

Long time since the last announcement here! Anyway, the QXComm may become temporarily inaccessible following the 29th as I do not have the money to renew the domain at this time. However, I am getting paid on the 1st next month, so if the site were to go down, then it should be up again around September 3rd or 4th, 5th at the latest. Just so you guys are aware of this.

I'll probably cross-post this (with some minor edits) to the QXComm later, so that people not in the Steam group would be aware too.
