Game Development World Championship 2022

The Game Development World Championship is the biggest global competition for game developers of all shapes and sizes, and games of all kinds on all digital platforms. You are welcome to submit your game, whether you are a professional developer, hobbyist, student, or just interested in game development.

What kind of games can participate in?
All kinds of digital games are welcome! As long as they haven't been fully released before 2022. In-development games are accepted as well!

Does the competition costs?
No, GDWC is completely FREE for developers to participate.

When do I have to submit my game?
The competition is open the whole year, with submissions ending on February 28th, 2023, at 11.59 PM / 23:59 Finnish time

Where is it?
The Internet! More precisely at thegdwc.com. Check it out and register.

Are there Rewards?
YES! We got a lot of cool stuff from sponsors and a trip to Finland to visit our local gaming industry. More details on the website.

Why does this competition exist?
We believe in new game developers and want to give them the opportunity to present their games to a large audience.

For game developers, this is a great opportunity to gain additional visibility, gain valuable experience, demonstrate skills, and discover individual talents.

When your game is qualified for the competition, all games will automatically participate in the public ranking, and the top 10 games are announced every month. It consists of two factors: *Engagement on game pages, such as game page views, likes, and shares. *Votes on the game discovery page.

The top-ranked game each month will be guaranteed a spot on the Fans’ Choice poll and the Jury’s Choice shortlist for whatever category it participates in. And do not worry about joining the competition late, because rankings reset every month, so it’s never too late to get involved!

The Game Development World Championship (GDWC) 2022, one of the largest game development competitions in the world, will award more than $100,000 worth of prizes and giveaways this year. This is the largest prize pool in the Championship’s history.

Prizes are spread across multiple categories, and there are many giveaways available to all participants. Prizes and giveaways vary from software licenses and development tools to hardware, visibility, and paid-for games industry networking trips. New prizes are also constantly being added.
