Virtual Poetics & Erotic Aestheticism & Process Gaming

We are dedicated to enlivenment in gaming: creating and maintaining a virtual poetics. Enlivenment is a sensuous experience. When we interact with games, it is an erotic relationship. Although we often conceive of games as virtual, ie. abstract, everything is physical. There is no second substance. Physical light strikes a physical eye. The game touches us, literally.

This is Erotic Aestheticism.

Process Gaming: There are no discreet units of code; the basic unit of virtual reality is the event, or relationship, between player and played.

Who is playing who?

Virtual Poetics: An anarchic (to be expressed and defined with no ultimate authority of judgment) awareness of games as an inherently poetic experience or process. The game is code (symbols) translated into familiar symbols via light translated again by eye, nerves, brain, human system. It is a poly-metaphorical experience. Thus, gaming is figurative, ie. poetic: expressive of that which is ineffable, paradoxical, and so on by use of metaphor in order to better explain the experience of human consciousness (and thereby adding information to the history), ie. that which could not be said literally.

Gaming is poetry; poetry is a game. Do nothing that is not play.
