Apotheon is a well structured 2D platformer based on Greek mythology. You play Nikandreos and you have an epic fight ahead of you against the gods. The Greek artwork is really well done and the atmosphere will captivates you in this frantic era.

The levels are fairly large, therefore you will find it extremely useful to use the local and world map to pinpoint where you are. You can also use the map to find ancient writing. You will be able to gather plenty of weapons like spears, arrows, swords, axes and much more. In terms of protection, armours and shields are pretty much it. Mind you, you can find upgrades for your armours which are often in chests.

Crafting, health potions and fire bombs (Greek fire in the game) are vital to your success.

In regards to the combat interface is actually good but it will take you a little bit of time to master all the different aspects of it. Be prepared to use all buttons on your gamepad. It can be challenging at times.

Apotheon is a little gem. If you enjoyed Guacamelee you will love this game.

Life is strange is a point and click adventure game / movie set in a place call Arcadia Bay. This game is very similar to “The Walking Dead” and “The Wolf Among Us” with a little twist to it.

You play Max (ine), an eighteen year old teenage girl with a passion for photography. During class Max experiences some sort of trance and sees something which is similar to a tornado ripping of Arcadia Bay lighthouse, and then she is suddenly back in the classroom totally confused. Finally the class ends. After wandering around the Campus our main character witnesses a crime and, believe it or not, she is teleported back to relive her previous 10 minutes in class. A classic case of Groundhog Day! Then, she realises that she can rewind time. Fabulous idea, especially that all your actions have consequences (just like The Walking Dead but you are not rushed into it). And you can decide which one sounds the more appropriate to lead you into the story.

Episode one sets the stage and story beautifully. You will meet interesting people including Chloe, Max’s childhood friend.

The visuals are superb with plenty of opportunities to take great screenshots. Max will certainly envy you for that. The soundtrack is good and the point and click system is very easy to use.

I really took a punt by purchasing episode 1 – 5, but if episodes 2 – 5 are as good as the first one I am in for a little treat.
