For those with trouble connecting to IRC through atf2.org
This is a problem with port configuration, which could require a reset of the modem. Many people wont/can't do such a thing so I am providing an alternative.

mIRC is an IRC client used as software instead of a website( http://www.mirc.com/ ). It is free(sorta), and great for #tf2mix.

Pidgin is also great( http://www.pidgin.im/ ) and is also usable with other chat platforms. This is absolutley free.

Download, install, and follow the easy instructions to get back on #tf2mix with no problems!

This issue is not related to "port configuration". Resetting the modem won't fix that issue.

I agree, that is what some people have told me that worked for them. It did not work for me personally, so I found another solution.
