It jumps to desktop in the middle of the intro for me.

Don' t know if it's by design or not, but after doing the sugested steps I have sound in steamos big picture but there's no sound on steamos desktop mode.

You can at least forget about Creative.

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z series cards won't ouput any sound on linux.

Amd mantlle is just like 3dfx glide. It is proprietary stuff optimized for Amd hardware. It will be used in a couple pc games and eventually die just like all proprietary tech.

Linux driver support is still very weak compared to windows. For example, SLI does not give any performance increase, or my Sounblaster Z is a lemon on linux.

Valve, please, put some pressure on Creative to release proper drivers for linux, so we can enjoy sound with this gaming sound card.
