Will we be able to stream non-Steam games that have been added to Steam?

I think it is possible as one of the Settings is 'Record Desktop'.

Is Mozilla Firefox support planned for the future updates? Or is it because browser itself doesn't have MSE & H.264 yet? Nightly builds have Media Source Extensions and MSE & WebM VP9 support somewhat working.

doesnt work for me: Updating Steam ... 30 seconds:

"Failed to apply a Steam update that is required to watch this broadcast.

Please ensure your client is connected to Steam and try again."

Linux mint 17 64bit Cinnamon Nvidia drivers closed.

How much bandwidth does this require? Does it increase if multiple people are streaming at once off me?

When will this be available for more operating systems? I'm running Vista and want to try this out.
surely vista isn't that old

ohh wait i think linux users just got trolled, i dont think its avaliable on Linux / SteamOS ?!?

seriously, thats the platform you want to be developing on FIRST. Your game console is coming out soon and I belive Xboxone & PS4 has in home match watching and streaming. These are console centric features in many ways as they should allow for TV/Casual watching.

Shows that some development team layer at valve hasnt truely moved over to linux full time.. perhaps i wont bother with steamOS if its going to play second fiddle to windows on every exciting feature and neither will many others.

if anything this could be a SteamOS only feature to draw in interest in your system

I'm sure they are plugging away. It's a Steam Client BETA feature which is like 1 hour old, cut them some slack while we troubleshoot this new feature for them ;)

What kind of additional load does this put on the host's machine or connection? What is the average end-to-end latency? These is extremely important for machines that already struggle to play certain games, as well as those with lousy connectivity.

Is this Windows only? I'm getting the same error as Twoony on Linux.

What the image shows is a screenshot of an error that I have that reads "Steam Broadcasting is not currently supported on this operating system." I am currently running 64 bit Windows 7. Is there any idea what could this being causing this, or is there others with said issue?

So you can get banned if you swear on your broadcast?
Kaboom 2 Dec, 2014 @ 11:48am
Few questions:

- Is there any sort of stat tracking or will there be in the future?

- Webcams allowed in the future?

- When I have people in chat it shows me (X) amount of users watching, but is there a way I can see the list of who is watching?

Will I be able to opt out of Steam Broadcast so I don't get charged an extra $70 by my ISP for streaming footage of the games I play? I want to continue using Steam, but this update might be a dealbreaker if I can't opt out of Steam Broadcast
