With this message I want to let everyone know that after months of thinking, we have finally decided to stop Steambans. Due to the lack of active development, less active communities and new services available on the internet by both Valve and others Steambans is no longer of use and is just staying there as a website that gets older and older not making anyone happy.

We want to thank you all for the years we have helped making the HL1/HL2 based games cheat free, our partners and all communities. As of today we have closed the Steambans service down and will forward it to one of our other projects: Sourcebans.net.

I want to thank all the staff and everyone that helped Steambans in the past and wish you all best of luck in the future.

With our new plugins sbsrv/sbsrc 4.4.0 we are going to reopen the submissions.

We highly recommend to update the plugin version in all SteamBans.com protected servers and please keep in mind that a server restart is required after installation!

Nonetheless. we will still accept demos which include a sb_status from version 4.3.0 (SBSRV) and 4.3.1 (SBSRC) for a while.

The Steambans team has released a new version of plugins to the community!

Highlights of this release include support for CS:GO, the latest instalment in the Counter-Strike franchise, support for the latest goldsrc updates brought about by the switch to the new content system, and support for changes in the Source 2009 engine used by games such as CS:S and TF2.

As we continue to provide you with the best possible anti-cheat protection for your servers our developer Live has been working hard to make SteamBans Guardian best of the best in detecting possible cheaters and blocking specific dangerous cvars and specific cheats, as a serverside plugin.

Although the plugin is currently still in it's beta stage we are now ready to provide you all with extra protection for your HL1 and HL2 servers.

As you may have noticed we were down for the last 2 days due to our old domain registration ISP being out of business for a couple of weeks already. After a couple of phonecalls with different providers and other companies we have got our domain back so we are once again alive and kicking!
