Pretty close to it. For some different reasons, it's not possible for this project to reach the level I wanted it to. I'll post up about it all soon, and I'll get the project as close to done as possible, but the final product won't be what I've been promising. I'm really sorry about that.

So, this is dead, I assume?

Funny you should ask. Check out the announcement I made today. I've actually been getting a lot more emails from people than usual about all this! :p

How 'bout now. Has there been any headway made in the SDS project?

Ok, good. This caught my attention a while ago, and I thought I'd check on it.

Sorry about that. The project is still alive. I just havent been giving status reports anymore because the development has had a bit of a freeze. Ill try to get back to work on this starting today, as Ill have a lot more free time.

Thanks for your continued interest!

So, there hasn't been a status report in nearly 2 months. Is the project still alive?

Wish granted. http://blakecode.blogspot.com/2010/01/sixdegreesteam-synopsis.html :)

Sorry for the long wait. Ive been busy with coursework. Let me know if the new post still doesnt answer your question.

I was curious as to a means that people like myself could come to an understanding on roughly how this program works... I understand what the goal of it is, but how do you intend to do this? A short blog post with a short synapsis would be so awesome, because I am really very intrigued. Thanks! :)

Thanks for the support, guys! All I could possibly ask from you is to give me any input you have, and spread the word to any friends you have that might find the project as interesting as you do.
Wayland the Smith 25 Dec, 2009 @ 7:43pm
I don't know how you're gonna do it, or how I can help, but I know I'll be the first to know about this. You have my total disembodied support.
TopRaman the Magnificent 25 Dec, 2009 @ 4:20pm
This is a marvelous project you have embarked on. I've read up on it, based on the links you provided above, and wish you the best of luck! The only support I will actually be able to give you, I'm afraid, is the support I give by joining this group (minimal to an incredible degree). Best of luck!

You are absolutely right. It's expected that some profiles will have a degree centrality of exactly 0 (no friends or groups). It's also expected that some profiles will have a degree centrality greater than 0, but a betweenness centrality less than or equal to the degree centrality (a private set of friends who are not associated with anyone outside of the set). However, if there is at least one member of that set with at least one friend on the outside, I estimate the relationship degree to be 10 or less. :)

what a small world, your only problem is that some people are absolute loners who have no friends on steam. so this is impossible to link everyone together, especially in 6 degrees.
