Reverse Mapping
Maybe you found once an island and thought, this would be perfect, if I only could change this or that.

But there is no way in the game to open an savegame or ingame generated island in the Map Editor to make changes.

So let´s try this:
Modifying the ingame generated island ´UPPER ENDLESS SANCTUARY´

First we have to know the island numbering in the world map:

Our island has the number ´1_0´.

Next to know is where the generated world map island file location is:
\..\Steam\steamapps\common\Stranded Deep\Stranded_Deep_Data\Data\Editor\World\1_0\MAP_INTERNAL_PROCEDURAL_1_0

1. Now copy the folder ´MAP_INTERNAL_PROCEDURAL_1_0´
to the Map Editor's maps folder:
\..\Steam\steamapps\common\Stranded Deep\Stranded_Deep_Data\Data\Editor\Maps\

2. Start SD in the Map Editor and choose to edit islands.
In the island list open the copied island, named ´UPPER ENDLESS SANCTUARY´.

The island can be now modified in the Map Editor.

Save modified island and optionally change name.

Quit Map Editor

3. Start Game
In the world map, mark the island you wanted to modifiy.
Now update the generated island with the modified island.

Save changes and play the game on the remapped island.

Island injection
3b. Do not start the game. Copy first the modified island back to its original location, overwriting existant files.
Start SD directly in game mode and play. The modified Island is already there.

This way the game could generates itself endless nodes of islands, regardless seed hirarchy or rekursiv iteration limits.
Every node can have its own seed and any nodes can be simply connected to each other.

Thanks! Yes, that's cool! :-)

This might be also usefull:
Copy the file '..._HEIGHT.map" to the 'editor\heightmaps' folder and rename it to 'yourmapname.raw'. That way you have made your own heightmap for further use. :-D
Updated the save path to v0.13 version.
