Welcome to the Scratch group on Steam, created and operated by scratchers like you!

Only scratchers will be accepted in this group. To use scratch, go on scratch.mit.edu. Please specify who you are after you join. If you are in this group, but not a scratcher, no cheesecake for you.

If you would like to become a moderator, please refer yourself to the recent announcement "Apply to be a Moderator".

We only have one rule, but we really mean it.

1. Be respectful. When in conflict, always privilege calm dialogue before losing your cool. Basically, don't do in this group what you wouldn't do in real life.

Breaking the rule will get you kicked, no matter who you are.

Long story short, the staff list may or may not be revamped, since the community has grown a lot in the past years but the number of Moderators has not really followed suit. Also I might be leaving this group soon so there's that.

What is a Moderator?

Moderators are unpaid volunteers whose only goal is to uphold respect in this community and generally make sure everything is going well. They don't have many administrative powers but are eligible to become admins.

Job description

Scratch Group Mods will:

Be active members of the community. (Having said "hi' once isn't enough.)
Be in good-standing. (That means we don't hate you, warnings are minimal, etc.)
Be friendly.

What timezone do you live in?
What hours are you normally active on Steam?
Why do you want to be a mod on the Scratch Group?
What issues do you feel most strongly about as a member of this group?
What can you bring to the mod team, other than your moderation?
What is something about the group that needs changing, and how would you work on changing this? (This can be any aspect of the group.)
Tell us about a time where you had to face an obstacle and how did you overcome it?

There is no clear deadline to the applications and for the moment I don't know how many people will be accepted. If you have any questions, you may also comment them here.

Once again, it is that time of year again. A time of giving, being with family, and just being jolly. I hope each and everyone of you has a wonderful(and safe) christmas with friends and family!
