Hi all, Monkey here.

I'd just like to bring to your attention the fact that there's a scammer going around impersonating YouTubers.

If a "YouTuber" adds you, check their profile. It is very rare that a YouTube personality will send you a friend request without any warning.

If you accept it and they are asking you for items, don't fall for it. They will try using their "influence" as a fake YouTuber to try and make you cough up your items.

If you receive a friend invite from someone you think is impersonating a YouTuber, please contact me (Ryan[forums.gameshock.net]) via a Private Message on our Community Forums[forums.gameshock.net] and I'll look into it. I'm friend with a lot of YouTubers and I'll be happy to check to see if they are legit for you.

Please, for the protection of your items and potentially your account, DO NOT even talk to anyone trade banned. They will ask you if you've got a "trusted friend" online. They will steal your items by impersonating your friend and having you trade them your items to "check" them to see if they are "clean".

Items do not need "checking" to see if they are "clean" and never will be. This is a SCAM and the person asking will STEAL your items. You WON'T get them back.Item history can always be found on sites like backpack.tf.

N.B: The last name he appeared to be using was Strife. DO NOT TRADE WITH HIM.
