Character applications of the Republic of Korvosa are now open! Please check out the rules here and also a few notes on the character applications:

Check out the Military Pages here and here and read about the roles, if you wish for you character to go down that route. An admin will audit it, the same goes for you if you wish to enter into a political role, look here and read about it. Though you may choose what you wish to have your character do in the end, please decide carefully if you wish to take the roll. Psychics will also get special rules if you wish to go down that route, Please contact an admin about the powers of Psychics and like if you want to be one, a roll will also be done. Another important thing about character applications is that you may also apply to the Civil Service, you may read about the Civil Service here here, and unlike the military and other political roles, you do not have to only be part of one and not the other. Most people may be part of the Civil Service.


The Republic of Korvosa is a vassalized state under a much larger empire, the Empire of Kristall. We are very much like Rome in the sense of our political systems, morales, and our military. Currently the Republic is in several deep crises, for example the economy is in a deficit with spending becoming out of control (Which can be seen here) and Korvosa has many enemies upon her borders as well, it is suggested you check the diplomacy page under “The World” subforum and also read the lore of the province under “Humanity and it’s Civilizations”. Specifically Riesengrab, which will explain the background of Korvosa and its neighbors. Also of important note is that Korvosa, due to being a vassal, had a overseer you could say, a prince that commands the highest position in Korvosa. He has the authority to overrule any decisions made by the Senate and Vice-Regents, this has sparked much debate and there are even some whispers of independence from Kristall. More lore can be read throughout all the subforums! Take time to read them, don’t rush!

Two more things, we know there's a lot of information to shift through, so go at your own pace. But basically make sure to read the threads in the general discussions, and depending on what you want to do, read the other subforums too.

Lastly, character applications when accepted will be moved to the respective families the characters are part of. A player character must join one of the established families (Until all established families have player heads, but we suggest joining an established one still anyways), there are currently 6 right now, with 5 with player heads already. The only family that does not have a family head is the Jaggeren family, which may be claimed by another player on merit if they sign up as the head of the Jaggeren family, all you need to do is state that you are the head of the family and sign up. Here is a list of the established families and their current status, and who leads them:

Once all established families have player heads, with admin permission you may establish your own family. However, we would prefer that you go with one of the already established families.
