New character-limit for recommendations

The character-limit for game-recommendations has been increased to a value of 4,000. Before the change the limit has been at a mere 1,000, so now the recommendations you write can be four times as long! With the new character-limit, people will be able to present their opinions on a game way more accurately than before and should not be bothered by the previously rather low character-limit anymore.

I have no information on when the change has been made, but neither JonesR, nor one other group-admin I have contacted knew about this, so I assume it is a fairly new one.
So, enjoy being able to write way more detailed recommendations and bid farewell to the annoyingly low character-limit which may have forced you to needlessly re-phrase your opinions to fit them into the old character-limit as well!

I'm quite certain it didn't work in early October yet, though. I wrote some recommendations there and still got the character restriction at 1000.

I'm not certain, but I think the change took place several months ago. I usually keep my recommendations brief, but this is good news for the ones that like to do more thorough impressions.

I've tried it yesterday (saturday), and noticed that it worked. I already posted three recommendations way above the old 1,000 character-limit cap, so it should work now.

But in the last few days one cannot trust the functionality of Steam's community features, as many (if not all?) users have that one problem that all Steam-friends of theirs appear to be non-friends. I have that issue, and know many who have the same thing happening to them, so these friend-logos in comments are gone and friends still have that "Add friend" button on their community profiles. Could be just me and the people I've asked, but I guess everyone has these issues right now.
Still, the new character-limit should work now and people who have not heard about it yet shall be informed!

Last Friday it was already possible to write longer reviews. However, Steam did not accept them when posted. I'm going to give it another try in a few minutes to see if I can indeed post my longer reviews now.
