So I no longer wish to play as core Medic on the team and since you guys are all friends I feel inclined to give an explanation for this.

Firstly anything I say in here I don’t mean to imply that I am not just as guilty of doing it as anyone else, a lot of these things I am probably part of the problem. But there is no way for me to know I am doing something wrong without being told after the scrim.

Now the keyword here is after, far too often our comms go astray talking about how our defense or push just crumbled instead of focusing on making our next one rock solid, in particular calling people out on something they did badly is actually capable of making them simply play worse which is why I seldom do it. (And feel bad when I do)

But anyway that leads well into one of the reasons why I don’t want to play Medic anymore is that despite three seasons of us acknowledging that our comms need a significant amount of work it never seems to amount to much. People frequently call unimportant comms loud, leading to other important ones from quieter people on the team (namely Livid who frequently has fallen victim to this) not being heard at all. And a fair few of our comms are stuff being called multiple times without reason and just other general noise that contributes nothing to the team’s overall awareness.

A very, very common example is people complimenting Kritz’s sniping skills. Yes it was a good shot, but we all already know that Kritz is good at sniper and it ultimately contributes nothing to the team’s awareness. Another quick example is how a few days ago we were saying “Engineer calls when to back out on payload) but today it felt like everyone but the Engineer was calling to backout.

The main reason however that is there is a mindset difference between me and the rest of the team. (Which there isn’t a problem with it, it’s just not for me I feel) The “incident” from a few weeks back is the best example of this and more recently with a fair few members of team seemingly wanting another season in Steel instead of playing in Platinum and working towards getting as good as we can. I don’t want to force anyone to fit to my idea of a team and I would feel like an outright prick if I tried.

Well that gives in an overview of my reasons and why I’ve slowly been having less and less fun playing scrims. While I don’t want to play Medic anymore (I will continue to play until you guys have a replacement sorted though) I would consider playing another class if one ever becomes available and I will stay on as a sub if the team wants.

Thanks for all the fun matches and scrims friends.

ps. Apologies for bad grammar.
