THIS SERVER USES THE UNRELEASED VERSION OF THE PHOTON LIGHTING ENGINE. WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A FRAME DEPLETION OF MORE THAN 50% ON LOWER-END COMPUTERS. IF YOU GET FRAME DROPS FROM YOUR AVERAGE BENCHMARKED FRAMERATE, THIS IS WHY.

However, if you don't get frame drops, then you can help us find things wrong with the WIP Photon version; otherwise known as update 'Estes Park'.

Myself and Super Mighty — as stated in a previous announcement — cannot use the dev server with the current version of the GitHub PLE. So, we are reaching out to you guys. A new discussion will be made and pinned directly centered on any development or findings made on this server. It's been a while. Like, a long time...so I think you all deserve something:

I recently got into personal contact with Schmal to ask him what he's been up to concerning his life and so-on. As many of you may have read, Schmal is a community service officer and is also attending college studies. This means he's pretty busy. A lot.

So, what does this have to do with Photon? Well, as silly as it may sound, the other 3/4ths of the CDT (Super Mighty, Noble and myself) are very well-informed of how Photon works as a whole but there is a current issue regarding framerate for lower-end computers that affects Super Mighty and myself heavily whenever we try and do work on the development branch of Photon on our dev server.

This has slowed down the production line of the Photon addon as a whole, however, there are a lot and I mean a lot of cool things coming in the new update. If you want to dig in the GitHub version and spoil it for yourself, go right ahead, but I am not going to say them here.

In conclusion, we hope you haven't given up on us because we haven't given up on you. Photon was created with the community in mind but has come to a slow; not a halt.

Work smart. Not hard.

The final contents that were installed previously on the server have been added back. The only remaining items we wish to install are 'Episode 2' and 'CS:GO' content. Since those are fairly large installations, we are going to complete them near the later hours so things can run more smoothly on the machine.
