Improvements Mod - No screen blackout, trigger to interact, etc
THIS MOD IS IN PRE-RELEASE STAGE, PLEASE REPORT ANY BUGS

The VR Improvements mod adds a bunch of useful features to PD2VR, such as adding smooth locomotion and thumbstick rotation, allowing Vive users to use their trigger to interact with objects (45sec on the grip button?), and moving your health meter to your wristwatch.

Full description of all settings
A full explanation for each available option can be found in the README[gitlab.com] on GitLab.

Automatic Updates
This mod now featues automatic updates. Upon loading the main menu, you will see a notification in the lower left corner of the screen telling you if you have an update or not.

If there is an update, click on it, then downloads manager, then click update.

Note that for the updater to work, you must have at least hook version 2.0VR5, or you will always be told the mod is up to date.

Just tried this mod and its trackpad locomotion does work, amazing!

It is bit too sensitive though (sprinting too easily, lack of fine movements), so its easy to run into walls& big objects and get a blackscreen.

Big props up to the ZNix, after some finetuning this will be the bomb!

I will try it when I get home, I was wondering if there might be a way to also add the 30 degree incremental snap turning, or even smooth turning at this point is fine. I really want to play this seated sometimes due to back issues. Can't wait to check this out!

Ah, you're on a Vive I assume? What would you suggest in terms of movement controls?

Either I could increase the deadzone, or make it that you click to move and putting your thumb 75% of the way to the edge activates sprint.

Thanks

The controller should define the direction of movement, not the HMD.
Is it possible to implement?
ZNix 18 Nov, 2017 @ 3:17am
@Sergio

Yes, it most certainly is. File an issue on the bugtracker and I'll get around to it (you can use your Google account to log in, if you want to).

Yes, Vive here.

(One) Click for sprint would make sense and would be my preference. Maybe with it included, would be also good to have bit of a deadzone close to the trackpad center.

Sort of a hybrid solution then, which could be best of both worlds. I think Onward and Pavlov have it a bit like this, which people like a lot.

No jump possible?
ZNix 18 Nov, 2017 @ 4:15am
Not yet, unfortunately. If you have a Vive, what should it map to?

Maybe by pressing right touchpad at bottom part.

I think he means the Touchpad.

Touchpad

Vive user here.

Just tried out the mod. Works better than that teleport locomotion. It feels a bit jittery when moving, I don't know if that's just me.
ZNix 18 Nov, 2017 @ 4:31am
That's already used for sprinting

Hey works fine, but how about swap turn or smouth turn on right stick ?
