I'm glad all of you like it, I wonder if anyone might have mods for such as this?

I think we should have an option of where other rulers (particularly neighbours) pay tribute to you in the form of gold while they are still independent. I thought this could be done through the diplomacy menu of where 2 options would say “Receive a tribute” or “Send a tribute” to the ruler. This tribute is like receiving or sending a very large gift except this “protection fee” could last for 5 years for example.

To make someone pay tribute to you will depend on your power and their ability to pay you a large amount of gold when you ask for it.

This tribute is basically a protection fee to stop other powerful rulers or neighbours from attacking them for as long as the gold is paid once every 5 years. Paying tribute to enemies did happen historically to realms such as Novgorod paying tribute to the Golden horde, until they got more powerful than them by the 15 century and refused to pay them anymore tribute. While the Emirate of Granada was paying tribute to the Kingdom of Castille until 1492 when they ran out of funds and refused to pay them.

Also I realized this could work well with those rulers who are surrounded and outnumbered by other rulers of a different religion as well since they can pay a “protection fee” to all of them (as long as they have the gold) for 5 years to stop them from attacking them for a while.

I think in this game that pagan rulers should be made available for hire to act as mercenaries for rulers of a different religion. This could be done through the diplomacy menu of how the way you can ask allies to call to arms into your wars.

For them to join you in your wars will depend on far away your enemies are from them as well as how greedy they are for gold.

Depending on the size of the pagan kingdom will determine the hiring cost of them, as the gold will be paid to them immediately as soon as you call them into one of your wars. Indeed, hiring mercenaries from petty pagan kingdoms by Christian ones did happen historically throughout Europe and could make a nice addition to the game.

I think there should be more demographics when it comes to the population of a county. I think there should be more information such as how many people there is in each county, as well as what different cultures and religions there is in a county, and a percentage for the cultures and religions who live there, that could change every month of depending on the circumstances of the game and it would look like this.

Culture, religion and population demographics will change over the course of the game such as people emigrating away from their own realms because of certain events, such examples like some people fleeing from war zones after their town was besieged by the enemy, expulsion from the realm they resided in, or simply because of a bad economy.

People from other nearby cultures will immigrate to your realm to often escape the wars from their own realms, persecution in other realms, trading with other realms (republics), by being a peaceful ruler for so many years or due to a good economy.

Or there are always other options like these 2 options below, to expel all the other cultures and religions not the same as yourself, just like how you can expel the Jews on this game, except if you try to do this, there is a chance they could well rebel in the form of lots of peasant revolts across your realm.



Expel people of other cultures from your realm

This option will expel all foreign cultures in your realm to immigrate to other nearby realms, even in counties where they are in the majority. However, this will upset some of your vassals and characters who have the same culture as them.

This option will expel all other religions in your realm to immigrate to other nearby realms, even in counties where they are in the majority. However, this will upset some of your vassals and characters who have the same religion as them.



Also I believe my idea would add a lot more flavor and interest to the game since lots of people did migrate to other nearby regions historically such as England receiving some French immigrants from 14th century onwards, mainly for the wool weaving industry at the time. Or the Cuman people fleeing to Hungary in the 13th century to escape from the invading Mongols.

Of course! the ancient Greeks and Romans used to rely on slave labour a lot during that time to run their empires.

Thanks for replying, I just thought I put my idea here in the hope the developers of the game will see it more than just the regular forums. I have also thought of other ideas for the game as well, of which I will publish them within this group page soon and hopefully get feedback from them too.

Is it possible a new population bar can be created to show how many people live in each county?

This I thought, could be shown like how the way loot bar is, and be shown below that bar. With this addition, I thought of an idea of where pagans, christians and muslims could start to raid neighbouring counties of a different religion for extra population and start turning them into slaves and distributing them to each of their own counties. This will, with the extra slaves, will generate a lot of extra income depending of how many slaves there is in each county.

I generally think that slavery should somehow be implemented or encouraged much more into the game, since historically it took such a big part in medieval times.
