Fathers of the Greek Civilization

The once powerful city of Mycenae was settled in 2000 B.C and is the starting place for the Greek civilization. Early archaelogical finds show that the Myceneans started to trade at the start of the bronze age. Located in the Peloponesse the Myceneans quickly subjugated the surrounding tribes and excerted their dominance. Quickly the Myceneans took over the island of Crete destroying the Minoan civilization. The Mycenean's colonized the islands of Greece and came into contact with the city of Troy. In the Illiad, Homer tells of the war and the Greek (Mycenean) victory. The civilization soon fell apart due to to either Dorian expansion or rebellion. Either way the fall of Mycenae lead to a dark age that Greece only really came out of with the rise of the Greek city states in the 7th century BC.

=SPQR= Markus Terentius is going to be the new leader of Mycenae while I am away. His reign will start on the 22/6 as I am on holidays. Treat him well and with respect.

just to make a correction the positions the ruler is the Wanax or wa-na-ka (ανακτας or ἄναξ) second in command is lawagetas(λααγετας) next were the eqeta(επετες) and final the telestas (τελεστες)
