Changing the message in the chat window when you log in.
Is there a way to change the message in the chat window when you log in? I would like to use that to relay information to players.

If you mean the message that appears when any player joins the server, that can be changed by server owner by using server-side scripting.
If you want to have a message that would appear whenever you join any of the servers, that is not an option.

Specifically what I refer to is the message in chat that shows how to operate the chat window.

I am the server owner and its a private server. All the players know how to operate the chat window. It's useless information for us now and, if I could, I want to change it to useful information since we play in different groups. Things like messages of the day or useful information regarding fixes or updates.

Yes, you can change the message. Just edit config.chatWindowInstructions in server/scripts/config.lua
