All it is is changing the music.xml and the sound files.

Well, that's the explanation. The mod is designed for Afterbirth, not Afterbirth+.
The modded music.xml file wasn't made from the Afterbirth+ version, so it isn't compatible with Afterbirth+ at all (missing lines) and therefore crashes the game.

To fix it, you'll have to add yourself the few missing lines to the modded file. Open the .xml file with a text editor, and add this between the line with id 101 and </music> (at the end of the file):
This should fix it.

I'm afraid not. Runs fine for me that way, sorry. :-/

I messed with some files, and it still crashes. Crash logs basically can't find any files, so I'm really unsure of what to do. What do you think?

Here's the workaround.

1) Backup mods from your resources folder if you have any.
2) Use the game files extractor from "tools" (Rick's unpacker isn't needed anymore). All files will be in resources.
3) Rename the "packed" folder to anything.
4) Edit the extracted game files as you like (or put your modded files in resources, deleting the extracted originals).
5) Do not competely delete any extracted file (edits are fine), all must exist.

Now, the game won't find any packed files and will run the extracted one (so if there are some missing, the game might crash), including your modded ones. Achievements aren't disabled this way, however you won't be able to install LUA mods with this method (but it's irrelevant for music or gfx mods).

I guess I have a similar problem... After installing Antibirth and putting a shortcut on steam, I reinstalled Afterbirth on Rebirth and now, only The NORMAL binding of isaac and Antibirth work.

Not related to the initial question, but restart Steam.

Thats ok, but it only seems like its happening in the cutscenes folder. What I was originally going to do was have the intro_bg have a 80's TV around it so it seems like you're watching TV. See, what Im doing is, is that Im making something called "The Binding of The 80's" you can go on my profile to see a screenshot.

Seems interesting indeed, good luck with that thing. :P

Im only trying to edit this file, and a few others that have the same glitch, some of the ones I edited have come out successful. Also I am on Windows 10.

I edited the file using Paint and Gimp.
But, well, if the bug doesn't happen all the time, I have no idea. Sorry. :-(

gfx\cutscenes, right, I found it.

My first theory came from similar glitches when you use a Rebirth character file instead of its Afterbirth version (a very easy mistake). But you're right, it doesn't seem there's any other version of this one.

I just edited it (randomly added a pink triangle), and it works perfectly once installed. I even changed its size (bigger or smaller than original), deleted a part of the file (transparent), no red glitch anywhere.

Are you editing any other file? Only this one?
Could it be related to the system? (Windows10 here.)

The thing is Im trying to edit the begining cutscene (all drawn and stuff), specifically the background. When I go to Afterbirth, then to cutscenes, there is no background. It's only in gfx.

Which files are you editing precisely? I'll check the problem (when I can). ;-)
