I've been playing greed mode lately, and I'm curious if there is a way to mod it. Can you do this? And if so, how?

Hello. I have an issue. so, I try going into mods. and after pressing tab to enable, i naturally press escape to return to the menu. The pressing of the escape key after enabling mods crashes the game. Any suggestions on how to stop this?
