Left 4 Dead Survival Night - Friday 1st May

Since the release of the new downloadable content Left 4 Dead has shot back up the ratings to become the most popular game in Microplay! To celebrate we will be holding a Left 4 Dead survival night on Friday the 1st of May. Survival mode pits you and 3 of your mates against wave after wave of increasingly deadly zombies! Who will be able to survive the longest?

So round up your friends and head down for the chance to win some great prizes and see which team are the undisputed kings of Left 4 Dead. The event starts at 7pm and runs until 10pm. The price is £5 per person and includes all your gaming time (i.e. 3 Hours!).


May Day £10 All Day - Monday 4th May

On Monday the 4th of May you can play all day for just £10! Thats 10am to 10pm (12 hours) of nonstop gaming for just 83p an hour!!

So you can get down to some hardcore grinding in WoW, perfect your strategies in Dawn of War 2 or try the new content for Left 4 Dead! Whatever your game, this is a bargain that is not to be missed! But remember, get down early and make sure you get a seat!


Battlefield 2 - Battlenight - Friday 8th May

Battlefield 2 is an old favourite that never dies! Veteran MG Gamers will remember nights of intense combat over land, sea and air in one of the most versatile and immersive combat games of recent years.

Its time to relive these memories with Microplay's Battlenight. An evening of massive Battlefield 2 games and competitions! Show your skills in a jet, or annihilate the enemy in a chopper. Better, yet why not be an engineer or medic and use teamwork to achieve your objectives? Whatever your skills Battlefield 2 has a role which you can fulfil. So grab a few mates and head down for an evening of intense combat on the modern battlefield.The event starts at 7pm and runs until 10pm. The price is £5 per person and includes all your gaming time (i.e. 3 Hours!).

February certainly was busy for such a short month! Several massive game releases including Street Fighter IV, Dawn of War II, Killzone 2 and Fear 2! Two very successful launch events accompanied the release of Dawn of War II and Street Fighter IV and the month finished off with a hugely successful Halo 3 all night LAN party - the first event of this kind that Microplay has run, but certainly not the last!

Thursday Night Fight Club
Thursday Night Fight Club starts this week on... uh... Thursday surprisingly enough. The club starts at 7pm and costs £5 (this includes 3 hours of gaming time!).
The aim of this night is for fans of 2D/3D fighters such as Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Smash Bros and King of Fighters to get together and test each others mettle in their chosen arena! Fight Club will take place every Thursday and will run from 7pm till Late.

This Autumn we are running more events that ever before, with new action packed games like Gears Of War 2, Left 4 Dead , FIFA 09 and many more. Just to give you a taste of what we have in-store for you this year, our Bebo fans will get a first look at our main events!

1 on 1 double elimination tournament, 1st prize is a £50 voucher to spend in store , entry is £5 per person.

Saturday 18th October(8PM-10AM)
All Nighter 4
14 Hours of hardcore gaming action including tournaments, competitions and awesome prizes, tickets cost £25 for VIP members. Tickets for this event will sell out fast as there is a limited supply available.

Friday 24th October(7PM)
Red Alert 3 Launch Tournament
To mark the release of Red Alert 3, we are celebrating with a 1 on 1 knock-out tournament. First prize is a £30 voucher to spend in store. Entry to this event is free!

Gears Of War 2 Launch Tournament
Our first team event outside of the AN this season, a 2 on 2 double elimination tournament to mark the release of Gears Of War 2. First prize is £100 to spend in store for the winning team, Entry is £5 per person.

Thursday 13th November(8PM-10AM)
Wrath of the Lich King All Nighter
To celebrate the release of Wrath of the Lich King, we are having an all nighter event, 14 hours of gaming with other WoW players. Meet like-minded players, trade tips and then play until the sun comes up! Will you be the first to hit 80? Tickets are £15 per person.

Celebrate the release of Valve's highly anticipated Left 4 Dead with us here at Microplay. Team up with other players to survive the zombie onslaught and escape alive. Competitions and prizes will also run on the night. Entry to this event is free!

Guitar Hero World Tour 1 on 1 Tournament
Take part in our 1 on 1 double elimination tournament to celebrate the release of this hot new title. 1st place prize is £50 to spend in store, entry is £5 per person.

Saturday 20th December(8PM-10AM)
Christmas All Nighter
Our last event of the year! 14 hours of hardcore gaming with the competitions, tournaments and the usual awesome prizes. Tickets cost £25 for VIP members. Tickets are predicted to sell out fast for this event as the schools are out and the holidays have began! Limited number of tickets available.

As well as these special events we are still running our ever growing in popularity DotA nights on Mondays (£7 covers your training and your gaming time) and continuing our early morning deal every day of the week, play from 10AM to 1PM for only £5! More events and special offers will be announced during the year as they are planned!

This month there is truly something for everyone at Microplay! Allnighters, tournaments, new games and more! As the summer winds down, make sure you dont miss any of the action at Microplay!

All Nighter XII (Sat 25th - Sun 26th August)
The Microplay All Nighter returns with all the games, competitions and prizes that you have come to expect! The all nighter will take place on Saturday the 25th of August at 8pm. As per usual the event will run until 10am on Sunday morning.
So if you need a dose of unrelenting, unmitigated, intense gaming then make sure you get your deposit in ASAP! Remember places go fast!
Or you can pay over the phone by credit card. Alternatively you can simply come into the store and pay your deposit in person. The cost of the event will be £25. A £10 deposit secures your place with the remaining £15 to be paid on the night.
Please note if you wish to cancel your place at the all-nighter we require 24 hours notice. Cancellations made after this time will not be eligible for a refund.

Supreme Commander Tournament -
Sunday 19th August!
This Sunday Rellix will be hosting an internal Supreme Commander Tournament. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a strategist then make sure you head down and take part! The tournament will start at 12 noon and will run throughout the afternoon.

Smash Bros. Tournament -
Friday 31st August!
By popular demand Chidori has agreed to organise a Smash Bros. Tournament for all the avid Smash Bros. Fans out there!
This will take place on the evening of Friday 31st August starting at 6pm. A nominal fee of £2 will be charged for entry to the tournament.

Microplay Gamers break £2000 in FFA Cash!
Microplay Gamers have now won a total of £2000 in CASH in FFA competition! What an achievement! In addition our gamers have also won 3 Fatal1ty Edition soundcards originally retailing for approximately £150.
So thats a total of nearly £2500 worth of prizes in FFA competition!
