Steam through UniWireless
Hello guys,
I just arrived at Uni Melbourne. The UniWireless seems to be blocking my steam downloads. Is there any way to use steam with the UniWireless?

Hello there, UniWireless does block Steam and other game platforms. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to access those platforms (legally, that is, and no, I do not know any illegal way).

just need a vpn to do that , any one know something about local free vpn?

if we connect to a vpn and let the vpn to connect to steam ,that is done. but we need a local vpn to ensure the low ping instead of just find a free American vpn that ruin the game...

I used my home-university's vpn for the past last year. If you are downlonloading something turn it off once the download has started. The download will then go to maximum speed. However you have to repeat that for every single download.

I asked this question 5.5 years ago. Perhaps read the other comments first and check the dates. Things were differently back then. Steam blocked with a 1GB download limit a week I think. The conditions have apparently changed.
