Long Live the Lunarian Race!

We are the Lunar Defense Corps . Our job is to protect the Lunar Capital [en.touhouwiki.net] from falling into youkai [en.touhouwiki.net] hands. Our current leader is Watatsuki no Yorihime (綿月依姫) [en.touhouwiki.net] . Yorihime is primarily responsible for training us moon rabbits.

Backround

The Moon invasion of 1969 A.D. did a great number on us, but we will strike back. The youkai now named Yukari Yakumo [en.touhouwiki.net] organized an army of youkai and led them in an invasion of the Moon. Publicly, Yukari states the invasion was to take the Lunarians' [en.touhouwiki.net] source of power, an infinite energy source which let them play all day.

However, the youkai were subsequently routed by the Lunarians, who possessed superior technology and magic, and forced to retreat to Earth. While Yukari claims she organized the invasion out of desire for that power, her true purpose may be that she did it to teach the youkai a lesson about starting wars of conquest; namely, that it was a bad idea, as since that time, no youkai have attempted to expand their territory beyond Gensokyo. However, this is no excuse to cause thousands of Lunarians to die because of a reason like this.
