Unlisted recommendations?
Hi. I just published a recommendation for The Longing. However, I was trying to add it in an "unlisted" way so that someone more involved with the group could "approve" it. Didn't find a way to do it. Does anyone understand how "unlisted lists" work? If I add a recommendation to an unlisted list does it hide it?

I can't answer this, but... I wanted to recommend The Loning as well, just to find that it might have too mayn players to qualify as hidden. On the other hand, in these times where way more people are at home playing, we might stretch those...

I don't think a list would hide or show a recommendation, though. Maybe just discuss the recommendation here? In the end, there's nobody very involved left here I fear...

Interestingly, I haven't received any recommendation in months (AFAIR), but two today...

"The most adorable progress bar I've ever watched. For point & click adventure fans with tons of patience. Seriously, a lot of waiting involved. I'll go wait some more now, maybe something happens."

"A good looking point & click adventure style waiting simulator. If you have the patience to nurture little Shade through his 400 days of longing, you'll find yourself... oddly attached. In a nice way."

And, as said, I wanted to do the same for the same game. :)

Uh... You see I'm trying to review the games I accepted but at the same time I'm not "in the loop" and forgot there are rules. You're right, I should've asked whether publishing a recommendation is a good idea first. If it doesn't qualify as a gem, feel free to remove it. I posted to Linux Users Exclusively curator page as well just in case.

P.s. I enjoy your listing of adventure games!

I kinda forgot about lists, and I'm not sure what kind of visibility they get on Steam, but I think it's a neat idea that we could do more of, like Zyro's adventure list. I think I suggested at some point that anyone up to it, could make eg. a top 10 favourite list, and I think it's fair that candidates for those lists are even more so up to the individual user's discretion.

I recall making a list when the feature was new, that was supposed dig up older recommendations for a period of time, but it was (nearly) impossible to find by browsing the store, so it ended up being pointless. I don't know if things have changed since then.

Lists are only visible when they have at least 1 game and someone has set them to public. lists are hidden by default.

Lists are great for sorting games, or recommending games from different genres or features :)

Ah, I see. That might have been what confused me when I was looking into it originally. Still, I think one has to be on our curator store page to see the lists? I don't think there's any indication of a game being in a curator list when visiting a particular game's store page. Not that it matters much, probably.

No that is correct, You can only see the lists on the curator page, But you can do some pretty cool stuff with them on the curator page :)
