New potential mapper joined up. Feel free to add me to your friends list as it would be good to ask for advice / bounce ideas off of.

Same, I also have a map that needs versus testing, or open testing. I've been working a long time on it.

Are any of the group administrators here active on the L4D Mappers Mailing List? It might be useful if we plan out testing evenings of WiP's and stuff.

Vscript documentation is now much more substantial: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/L4D2_Vscripts

Get programming!

@ Quzzle,

You can extract it from my vpk (INSURGENCY MOD) was the model it came from.

I'm going to be meeting with my IGDA group tomorrow evening at Firaxis Games. They are goiing to talk a bit about Civ5, however afterwards I should be able to have an announcement about this project. I'll let everyone know more details after that meeting. I'm also going to try and find a coder to jump on board to the project.
Tedgrocer 20 abr. 2010 às 8:40
@ilcannibal Any computer scientists or people that like to code should jump to the vscript thread in steam forums. They're trying to figure out how to decrypt all the .nuc files. Very exciting! http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1128303

I'm on board as an artist.

I believe the tank model was a model pack for GMod, ripped a long time ago; it's just a prop_dynamic with a predefined path_track.

Hi all, I managed to get a zombie model decompiled so I'll start making the "gilleriai" bush type zombie soon. Just looking for a bush model.

@ilcannibal Where did you get the tank model in your campiagn from. think you could send it to me so I can start to animate it?

@ThaiGrocer

Good Call on those Vscripts, I wonder if there is a windows based program we can use to make some.
Tedgrocer 11 abr. 2010 às 20:47
Hey, RyOK. I asked a question about vscripts in your recent announcement. Did you figure out any new ways to use vscripts that aren't in the VDC wiki article? Thanks.
Mike Von Einzbern 10 abr. 2010 às 11:54
Sounds like a great idea Ryok! I would love to get so mething going with all of you. I'm not as big into mapping as some of you but I am very passionate in video game environment art! If you/or anyone here would be interested in some art assets, contact me! (add me on steam friends and we'll chat!)

I've been talking with a few of you, and from what I can tell a lot of you thinks this is a great idea. Anyways here's my thoughts:

Many of the members of this group are interested in getting jobs in the industry, or simply making fun maps for everybody to play. Personally, I have 2 companies currently reviewing my portfolio, and I would love to tack on another project to it. Because group/team experience is very important, I figure, why don't we all pool our resources together, and make a really fantastic campaign in l4d and l4d2? The way I look at it, if we have 5 members interested in the project, each of us would only need to write a design document, (I have a few really great and fun ideas to throw out there), and then make a single map. By the end of the project, we would connect them, and then give a final polish to the whole series.

Anyways add me as a friend if your interested. So far I have don, (made evil eyes), Diputs, (made Death Aboard), myself, and Green.
