New to the King of Fighters series? Rusty and need some polish? start here!

Now that The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition is out, currious newcomers and series veterans alike are coming out of the shadows to dig into SNKPlaymore's first serious PC/Steam offering.

This group/league is for setting up FUN matches, getting tips and encouragement from seasoned veterans, and building confidence in new players or returning players who want to see what the Steam edition has to offer and taste what the online spectacle is like. Leave the serious/tournament stuff and trash-talk in the other fighting games (you know which ones) and join us with an open mind, positive attitude and a willingness to experience one of the best fighting games around!

The KOF XIII Friday Fightfest and Saturday Slugfest were a HUGE success and I want to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who participated and welcome all of the new members who joined up! :D I hope everybody had fun and a chance to enjoy one of the longest-running and deepest fighting game series since its debut in 1994!

I hope everyone got enough "Burn Knuckle sandwhiches" and "Lizing Tacos" to eat!

With that said, I've got a couple of things on the horizon for members to make note of:

1. Casual Corner - I'll create this as a forum so members who just want a quick game can post times they are available (if they wish to). Casual is STRICTLY for fun with the focus of just messing around to get the feel of the game against a human opponent when the CPU just doesn't cut it.

2. Coaches - Positions are open to anyone (preferably a gameplay/series veteran who knows what they are doing) who's main function is being available for group members to practice combos ONLINE with live chat (i.e. a microphone) or Steam chat. You'll need to be available at least one day a week for a couple of hours. If you're interested, just PM me and we'll get things started.

3. Mission Mode Trials - As a way to gauge beginner competency and to ensure group members are actually trying to better themselves in KOF gameplay, I'm asking everyone to take an in-game picture of your mission mode trial completions. You do NOT have to do it for every character you play; just your main or favorite. Simply take an in-game picture of your character's trial menu with whichever trials you have completed PER week.

The goal for ALL members is to finish up to the 3rd trial AND use one of the trial combos ONLINE SUCCESSFULLY (i.e. make sure you keep the fight replay as a record/proof). This will ensure that a standard is set for everyone an coaches will know how to give personalized advice per session. Be proud of your trial completions and show them off in your Steam profile! I know I will!

Friday Fight Fest and Saturday Slugfest!!!

To celebrate the launch of The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition, the Beginner's League will be hosting a 48-hour "Meet-n-Greet" for those who purchase the game and want to add to their friends list, learn the game mechanics, and jump online for FRIENDLY competition. "Meet-n-Greet" in this sense means to "Meet online and "Greet" with a match. Current group members are encouraged to participate by simply playing online as much as possible IF YOU ARE ABLE TO. Remember: one match is roughly three minutes of real time, so if you can spare five minutes out of your day, then you've helped the League, helped yourself, and helped a potential newcomer see the wonder and magic of the King of Fighers series!

I'll be on-hand to accept any and all challengers, whether they are complete beginners or seasoned veterans/pros while promoting the League and posting combos and tips here on the forums when I'm not getting beat up or racking up win-streaks. LOL!

See you online Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14, so crack your knuckles and get ready to throwdown or get beatdown!
