Just to let the peeps know whats been going on lately.

Gotgames held another one day competition recently for Counterstrike Source. Held last Sunday, two predominantly Tasmanian teams in the guise of "Gentlemen" and "Harlequin" competed in the fun, one off event.

Gentlemen and Harlequin both found themselves in the same group for the start of the competition and while having a close match, Gentlemen came out on top taking first place in the group followed by Harlequin to the shock of Extortions fans who didnt make it any further in the competition.

Gentlemen ended up bowing out in the semi finals to finish equal 3rd but not before dishing out some tas banter to havoc and zeke, it was a bitter sweet loss.

I beleive Harlequin were knocked out in their first match after group stages (ask martin).

At the end of the day, Qlimax won a very close best of 3 final against Kage who are looking to make their mark on Australian CSS. It will be interesting to see if Kage can maintain their recent enthusiasm for the game however.

Lastly, after the competition teams were announced for the next season of Cevo. Gentlemen will be competing in the Cevo Intermediate league lacking the skill of old as you would expect after such a large break for many of the players.

Harlequin however, have been overlooked for the top 3 divisions of Cevo which is ridiculous. Some of the teams in Cevo Main and even Cevo Intermediate, Harlequin would absolutely rape. I can only guess they didnt get their application in on time. Ill have to confirm.

The next season of Cevo Australia is about to take off and GotGames are taking applications for all divisions.


Be aware of a new "main" division which has started to help bridge the gap between the amateur and intermediate leagues.

Breaking news on the Tasmanian LAN front.

It's not quite official yet, but come 25th January, expect Tasmania to be holding an AINC Counterstrike Source qualifier at most likely the Dark Media LAN.


AINC host one of the best annual gaming events with media coverage and plenty of spectators at the national finals at Gamerthon in Melbourne.


Tasmania has the opportunity to earn a spot to this fantastic event come January, so start praccing now, dont wait, GO!!

Cybercores next match will be for a spot in the grand final as they take on the winner of the match between noob and res.
