Here are three rules you must follow if you want to survive:

1. Never stop moving, a slow marine is a dead marine
2. Never let a threat able to catch you, it is the duty to each and every marine in the squad.
3. A squad must always be able to overpower the swarm. If you have to move, move faster than the swarm. If you have to shoot, strike harder than the swarm.

In any case be unite, act as a team, and think fast.
Questions are for the briefing room, not the field.

Cry Marine, and let slip the weapons of war

As said the very wise Artor Amhad:
Victory often rests on the correct weaponry being in the right place and at the right time.
Even the most destructive weapons of war are worthless if absent from the battle.

A quick review of the best weapons:

> Autogun — Correct, but a slowing a marine is a great weakness
> Minigun — Use it only if you know EXACTLY what you are doing.
> Vindicator — Best suppresing fire ever, learn how to use it and you'll become invincible.
> Tesla Cannon — On hardest difficulty level, stopping a bug for 5 sec is priceless, espetialy if it's a shieldbug
> Personal Defense Weapon — Few ammo but correct firepower.
> Flamer — Really great on normal, useful to slow swarm on harder difficulty levels.
> Chainsaw — Really powerfull, but having to charge the swarm can makes everything turn to total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in few seconds.
> Grenade Launcher — Need explosive bonus for Insane/Brutal, but once you know how to handle it, you can tear appart everything in your way.

And now the offhands:

Geat for unexpected encounters:
> Freeze Grenades — Can stop every unexpected incomming, except parasites.
> Hornet Barrage — Great for aggresive charge, but weak for protectng you (Can kill you if you are surrounded).
> Electric Charged Armor — Can stop everything surrounding you (including parasites), beware of cooldown though.
> Combat Flares — One of the more powerful offhand ... just kidding.
> Adrenaline — Only if you must be extremely fast.

Good support:
> Hand Grenades — Do you need THAT much firepower, I mean ... Seriously ?
> Proximity Incendiary Mine — Only if you know what you do, but can stop almost everything so...
> Tesla Sentry Coil — In the average.
> Trip Mine — Weak, choose incendiary if you need mines.
> Hand Welder — Really weak compared to others, yeah I know they can stop the swarm, but when you will be surrounded, what will you do ? Weld them altogether ?

Witch reminds me of that: Aboves offhand are supposed to help the squad. But not be able to protect yourself in unexpected situation will put your all squad in danger. Keep that in mind when you'll think of picking a Welder or Hand grenades.

Use them only if you know what you are doing:
> Assault Jets
> Blink Pack

About team kill and Friendly fire.

Each and every marine have a position in the squad.
> Medics should be inbetween the squad, supplying backup and heal.
> Sergent/ Heavy Weapons should supply backup and heavy firepower.
> Tech have to be fast and leading the assault.

Roles may vary according to the difficulty level, number of players.
> The harder the difficulty is the faster you should be and the more firepower you should get, flamer wont be usefull anymore.
> The fewer you are the faster you should be, period. You'll need suppresing fire, but you will not be able to do it proprely, prepare for nightmare.

Knowing your role, you should work as a team, support each other espetially on realods and hold outs. However, not doing friendly fire doesn't mean not supporting each other: Offhand items are here to help, feel free to use them whenever something goes wrong. Better alive than sorry.

Anyway prepare your strategy carefully, as Capitain Machalai said wisely:
"Questions are for the briefing room, not the field."
