bug: remote play infinite loading screen since Jul28 build
ISSUE
After upgrading Steam Client to 1690583737 / July 28 2023 build from the June 28 build, Remote Play will not fully start rendering video for a game. Instead it renders the splash screen with a spinner at the bottom that keeps spinning infinitely. Notably,

I have tried changing every Remote Play setting available in the UI without success.

Notes:
- the Steam Link app from the Mac App Store still works as expected.
- When connecting to a game that has immediate audio, you can hear the audio on the client even when the loading screen is spinning and similarly the mouse pointer changes to the game pointer

I previously reported this issue during beta:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/3817418437355064063/
At the time reverting from beta to release version on the Remote Play Client (June 28 build) also worked around the issue. But now that this beta code has made it into release my only working option is the Steam Link app. So this bug was seemingly introduced between the June 28 and July 28 builds.

OS
Remote Play server - Windows 11
Remote Play client - MacOS 13.5.1 (MacBook Air M1 2020)

STEPS
Start Steam Client on both Remote Play hosts
On Remote Play Client, select LIBRARY from the main menu
Select Baldurs Gate 3
Select STREAM or CONNECT (depending on whether the game is already running on the Remote Play server or not)

RESULTS
A splash screen with a spinner that spins indefinitely. If the game chosen has audio, the audio is played on the Remote Play client. But video never renders.

EXPECTED
Remote Play splash screen resolves to game video.

Hi, I had the same issue. I used so many hours to fix it... For me the latest NVIDIA graphics driver, NVIDIA APP and GeForce apps make this happen. When installed older Nvidia graphics driver (555.85) without any other drivers or newer Physix driver, it works. But if Installed Geforce app / Nvidia App or even newer graphics driver with newer Physix engine and/or NVIDIA (Display oem25.inf) driver -> the problem is there.

And the only way to get it work was to do clean install for windows and then use windows system recorvery points. And I tested remote play after every update, and every installation. And went back previous revorvery point if had the issue.

Did you fix your problem someway?
i have the same problem. people can join my game and the audio sounds good, but never can see the game

Do you have NVIDIA graphics? Have you installed GeForce Experience or NVIDIA App (beta).
