So the issue is that nations can magically teleport their aircraft squadrons to the other side of the world?

Flying to rebase is one thing, but Lend Lease is something different.
-Lend Lease requires trade ships so that takes care of itself.
-Flying to rebase is more abstract in the game so it can get fictional and unrealistic some times.

Therefore, we could do a rule that say that if the distance involves gaps more than four times the range of the planes an open trade route is required.

As for Nord's question, I'm aware of the limmited things Spain can do, and it wasnt my first choice to play, but for me it's a good introduction to HOI4 MP.

we got a few points to clear up before we begin. I will tomorrow evening make a decision on the following points:

We need to decide on when Spain can join the axis. Suggest after Germany has attack USSR. Another possibility after Germany has finished the Nat spain alliance national focus.

Suggest we allow coups and support parties on all ai nations (an ai nation is a nation that has never has human controlled). i have no idea how effective support parties and coups are, happy to hear what the possiblities are.

3)

From the discussion about France and a fortstrategy it seems we do not need more rules regarding this.

3.2: After 80% tension max of 5 divs as volunteers, max 3 armoured

not written in the rules, suggest we agree that they can go anywhere (no restrictions for usa and japan with their volunteers). Not so much in spirit of a historical focus, but makes it more interesting to be the waiting nations (USA, Japan and USSR) if they can parcipate in the war.

I agree we should allow Coups / Support Parties vs AI. Early or mid-game I think it would be a waste for most. Maybe allies can try to keep some AI away from Axis, but its costly. From mid-game and onwards it can be a smart move done right.

Whats the max any has sent as volunteers in SP ? To me it looks like the game takes care of this well by its own. I dont think we need a rule for volunteers.

I'm just saying both the group, the teams and the players should look at these things before we start. I want to avoid that the game fails due to players expecting things that dont happen.
For me this is a MP game with some MP testing. The SP testing should be done before we do MP.

Lend Lease will be a big thing in MP HOI4 I expect. I minor with some manpower can be made a great ally if things are done right. But the minors that dont get Lend Lease looks to be much weaker then in HOI3.

nord, unclear to me what your question is. what you mean by why

"Why" as what would be the goal for Spain?
I tried a quick SP Spain 36-39 now, Spain will need a huge Lend Lease deal from Ger / Ita.

all the same for me, it looks to be to costly for France either way. Forts can work to connect riverlines like in Russia, maybe. But the cost for France for even 5 level fortline is to much. France has to take Fortification Focus and Alpine Forts first. Thats 210 days for 16 levels of Forts. Also it has other costs that could be just as bad.
Then if France should build 3x8 fort levels, to get all to 5 on the border with Belgium that would cost 7500 Civ Fac days. Then what army would France guard the forts with?

The cost for Germany is to make a template, say "Sturm 38", put in some things the could wait for another year, and whoala as they say in France, the linebreaker is served. After the fortline is broken its all clear to Paris.

France is difficult. It is easy to stumble left or right away from UK and the Allies.
Try it, have fun.
But the forts are costly as France has very little production. A fort level looks to take 20 days or so for a 15x Civ factory, there are 8 forts to build up 8 level.
There would be no Civ fac for other builds.
