why do i see prices like "$1.61 or 1 tf2 key" when tf2 keys cost $2.30?
ive seen tf2 keys for as low as $1.90 paypal on steamtrades, but where can i get them for $1.61?

i wish i could buy tf2 keys with steam wallet, because i have lots of steam wallet, but not much paypal...

but id still buy a few tf2 keys for $1.61 each paypal...

id buy a lot if i could get them cheaply with steam wallet... i think they usually fall in price to like $2.15 or so during the winter or summer sales, but thats not much different from the regular lowest price on the market, $2.30...

probably because it is hard to pay 0.8 keys

edit: you should maybe consider to buy the keys from the tf2 mann co store for the regular 2$ :)

Because you can't take 0,20$ of a TF2 key. It's just rounded up.

edit: beaten by Sepp. :c They are 2€ or 2,50$ I think.

Hi mate the 1.61 price is the inidegala 5 pack price sometimes for the monday bundle.
Total $8.03. divide [/] by 5 = $1.61. tf2 keys are accepted as some people prefer that, no other reason.

you also have to factor in that they are probably selling the key which is like ~2.00 wallet or ~1.80-1.90 via paypal

the cheapest ive been able to buy tf2 keys is $2.30 wallet, in the steam market. is there someplace to buy them for $2 wallet, or were you just rounding down?
Cow 2014 年 10 月 8 日 下午 4:58
im saying that them listing the item for 2.30 only nets them 2.00 after taxes/fees

It's not that hard to fraction payments with TF2 keys. Almost all traders set prices in TF2 keys + refs (refined metal from TF2) or ToD (Tour of Duty tickets, also from Tf2). So you can pay the exact sum or pay in TF2 keys and get change back.

I understand Paypal is money and a TF2 key is not, as well as market fees, but personally I find a pricing scheme such as "$1.61 or 1 tf2 key" a bit unfair.

Sadly I have to agree with this because its plenty of ways for seller to give change back being ref or scraps

Why sadly? Don't you like to agree with me? :P

yeah, id never pay $2.30 when i could pay just $1.61. why pay an extra 69 cents? how much ref is worth around 69 cents? i know a tod is $1 so thatd be too much change.
thenevernow 2014 年 10 月 9 日 下午 12:01
$0.24 on Steamtrades.
Sxem 2014 年 10 月 9 日 下午 12:04
so i guess in that case you shd give 2 ref as change, worth 48 cents, and then the buyer is only screwed out of 21 cents instead of 69. or 3 ref if the seller wants to screw himself out of 3 cents... :)
Cow 2014 年 10 月 9 日 下午 5:04
the problem with ref metal though is that you cant directly sell it on the marketplace which makes it harder to unload so a lot of people dont like to deal in it, if you find the pricing unfair you can always host it yourself/use a different host
