[MODS] To your attention
Can we please settle some stricter rules for bundle splits. It's not fair when the buyer sets a game price for 0.5 euros if he buys it for him, but when he gives the game to someone else, the price is 1-1.5 euros so he can literally compensate for his expenses. It a trend now

Do you mean bundle split for €0.5 -> keep it -> sell it in leftovers for €1.0? It happens a lot I guess. Sometimes there are ridiculous prices for recent leftovers.

i mean if the host keeps game x, he values it at 0.5 euros. if host sells game x, he values it at 1 euros or more and undervalues other games he keeps

It is not my intention to defend this practice, and there may be cases where it goes too far, but I can understand the perspective of the host relatively to the comfort of the buyer.

I believe this practice alleviates the annoyances of hosting. When you host:
- your break the terms of service of Humble, which makes your account at risk of a ban,
- you have to deal with every buyer,
- you bump your thread for days or worse,
- you realize you have under-valued games which you have already sold,
- you realize you have over-valued games which are left-overs,
- you end up paying for the left-overs from your own pocket.

By bumping prices a bit, you have a cushion to ensure that you can re-balance the prices, decrease the prices of left-overs if needs be, or that it is acceptable to pay for the left-overs (which you never intended to keep in the first place) from your own pocket.

At the end of the day, if saving 0.50 € on a 1.00 € game makes hosting worth it, anyone can try their luck with hosting and see how it goes from there.

The only time HB can actually detect trading is IF you trade with gift links

I have been bartering with HB keys for some time now and Ive yet to have my account locked/ looked into it by HB Team for any suspicious activity

Again, im not disputing it didnt ever happen to anyone, but what I am saying is that I have yet to see a single DOCUMENTED evidence of this occuring (ie someone being banned for trading revealed keys with others while never trading gift links)

Now if someone buys 5-10 copies of the same bundle using the same payment method/ IP address is a different story altogether..

Not just the recent leftovers. These prices are sometimes far too high if you look at how much the bundle cost.
If host undervalues the games he's keeping then it also means he overvalues the games he's selling. And if he overvalues these too much, then he'll be left with them unsold. Curiously enough not a single f*ck is being given then, but we're first on watch checking if he only sets too high prices for the games we wanted huh?

In the end it's all host's calculation, his money and his risk. Aaand his work because hosting is more attention and time taxing than just entering and getting what you want. And if you really think the pricing of the split is unfair, you're absolutely free to buy the bundle and do your own, better and 100% fair split.
