Our New Mod
First off I know that this should be in General Discussion. I am posting it here for maxium visibility. I'm sure it will either be moved or deleted as the mods see fit.

So we have a new mod here , Nohiro, and I personally am not very happy about this. I was completely unaware of this member until last night as I am sure many of you were as well. While he does host the occasional bundle split it is fairly safe to say he is not the most active member of the community.

He appeared on my radar when during yesterdays Humble he got involved in a dispute with another member , «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» , who full disclosure here I am friends with through this forum. The short version of this is that «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» posted on his bundle split requesting a couple games for his kids accounts , Nohiro deemed this was in violation of the one game rule and reported him to the mods which then resulted in «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» being perma banned from the group as he had a temp ban before for this when the rule was recently brought in.

Nohiro then proceeded to post the profile links «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» provided him with in chat of his kids accounts unto his post. (The links to «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» childrens accounts have since been rightly remobed). He also then verbally attacked him mocking his collecting quite rudely in the post here.

A quick look through his post history also shows that he refunded a bundle recently after splitting it, something I'm sure you all would agree is a big nope!. While it appears the buyers were refunded to my knowledge they had by then missed out on the chance to get the games they want.

So ladues and gentlemen there is our new mod, someone who mocks and gets one of the most trusted and prolific hosts in the forum banned, someone who mocks game collectors in a group used by a rather large number of games collectors, someone who refunds bundles he has split without informing the buyers, but hey I guess he will make sure we all behave and post the odd split every now and then, maybe.

Older members might see a comparison with an other old member; Fearless. He were very kind and helpfull at the beginnening. In my philosophy people who are active do deserve more, so once in a while I agreed to give him a bit more privilages. This was a mistake. He kept pushing and pushing that boundary. I got a good enough of complaints about him abusing the rules again and again. So I've talked with him a good number of times about this. Yesterday I was really done with him. I just asked him to promise me he wouldn't buy more multiple copies and copies of games he already owned. Nothing more, I wasn't interested in a discussion. Just that promise was all I wanted. He said something along the lines of: "But it's not a rule you can't buy games I already own.". At that moment I banned him, I was really done with him trying to push his bounderies again.

Yes, he was a very active members. But we are not interested in people who abuse the group to just fill his 7 alt-accounts with as much games as possible. Also, I banned him.

Nohiro
I can make this short. He's got the right mindset. But most importantly; he doesn't participiate much in groupbuys. Why is that important? If you are a really active member, it's in your best interest to keep everyone your friend. There's a reason that I barely participate within Group Buys and that I never trade anymore. You might be against this argument, but I hope you guys can understand. If he does a ♥♥♥♥ job, he will lose is privileges asap.

This is honestly my first time hearing of him... and the only person who can make people mods is Warrant.... Trying to get ahold of Jur to see what the hell is going on.

To be fair I'm pretty sure I've seen «×þ®eDåŦ¤®» grabbing multiple copies of a game on multiples occasions and being really active in the group shouldn't absolve him from following this rule.
But yeah that mod seems a bit trigger-happy, and I'm not a fan of the public shaming and aggresive behaviour.

Looks to be a typical case of someone suddenly coming into "power" from an otherwise powerless position in life and feeling a bit high and mighty/trigger happy. That showcase they have on their profile with various links to other people's profiles isn't exactly flattering, either. Disgraceful conduct.

Yeah I'm surprised to see so many people here defending Predator, he breaks rules pretty often.. last I checked the mods go lenient on him because he hosts a lot of group buys. Don't get me wrong, I like having more group buy hosts, but it shouldn't absolve him from following the rules, like you said.

He was a good buyer of bundle splits.

BTW isn't it up to the hoster in the first place whether he allows a person to take more than one copy? I though the 'one per person' is just a guideline.
if i understand correctly he only claimed one game on this group. it was a game he already had so he claimed it for his kid instead. that's not against the rules is it?

No claiming multiple copies of the same game/bundles. Other people want that game too. If you want multiple copies of the same game/bundle, give hosting a try

The "give hosting a try" part applies to predator more than anyone else here.

I agree with spod and Temp. Pred has been bending that "one per person" rule for as long as I've been active in the group, and it is unquestionably done to farm cards. He may also have an account for children or significant others, but there's no doubt he's also getting multiple copies for card farming.

I don't personally agree 100% with the "one per person" rule, but if we're going to enforce the rule within the group, then it should be done so consistently and fairly.

That being said, it does seem that this new mod is using the newly granted power too aggressively, too quickly, and that certainly needs to be addressed.

Maybe the solution could be "priority to people who don't own the game". Thus, if a game is highly demanded, everyone has its chance. And if not, people who want multiple copies can get them. A more flexible rule.

Yes. Furthermore, he's been breaking this rule since well after his initial suspension, so it's not like he didn't know what he was doing and what the risks were. If you've got concerns about Nohiro, fine, but this suspension / ban shouldn't be one of them.
