PSA: Paypal Policy changes March 29th. Prices are going UP and protections decreased.
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/upcoming-policies-full?locale.x=en
Summarized by PP for an easy read.

Prices are going up pretty much 1% across the board for both sellers and buyers.
And they are dropping many of the protections from individuals.
This will have an impact on key/bundle/game resellers.

Anyone using a PP alternative that is safe, reliable, global and lower fees?
Getting closer to time to drop PP for this kind of purchasing, for me.

Just pointing out that it seems you used "HB" for Humble Bundle(?) where it should read "PP" for PayPal.

TINA.
lol. Thanks for the catch.
Now, I posted this blurb in a few groups. I have to run back and find them to edit.

I simply had HB on the brain when I was posting about PP. Mixed them up.

any alternative payment method would be welcome, assuming there is any viable one.

We are updating the list of items that are not eligible for Purchase Protection. The updates to the list are:
Financial products or investments of any kind.
Donations.
Payments sent using PayPal’s friends and family functionality.
Payments made using PayPal Payouts and Mass Pay or guest checkout transactions (i.e., payments not sent using your PayPal account).

They increase fee for buyer protection, so it's not applied to Friends & Family payment right ?

Let see if bundle site like HB, IG, BS, etc will increase bundle's price cz of this matter.

Thanks for the heads up - I did not even receive an email about this yet.

Frankly, the loss of "Purchase Protection" is understandable for the listed points [aside for the last one as I don't know what it is].

That being said, the rate increase of 1% [0.5% from transaction + 0.5% from conversion] is quite upsetting as it is when comparing it to US rates - 7.4% vs 2.9% - unless they changed it for them as well some other time and I didn't notice.

I guess they expect us to be thankful for not raising the flat rate as well :/ [more relevant when dealing with small transactions].
