What happen to true split cost?
I was just wondering why bother with a split cost if the host is just going to make up random prices?

Example..

Bundle has 6 games for 12 bucks one of which is high demand big title..

They give that tittle a 5.00 price then the rest 1.40 prices which would then add up to 12 bucks.

I thought the point of this group was to split bundles at cost of each games times amount paid.So all games in that bundle should cost 2.00 not one that is 5.00

I joined this group on the concept it was going to be a true bundle split of being cost of bundle divided by price per game.

I know in the end those prices still adds up to the 12 dollars.I come here looking for true split price the whole point of splitting a bundle for cost.If I am going to pay 5 bucks for one game I might as well buy the bundle myself and split it.The point of this is to get the game you want without needing to buy the whole bundle and splitting the cost yourself.

And how is 5$ the same as the price of a full bundle which costs 12?!
I'm assuming you're talking about the HB Monthlies. When they started people were actually splitting it even. Some lucky bastards got the best games for cheap and most shovelware was left to the spliter. Then like in any other economy the people addapted to this with flexible pricing. A highly anticipated title WILL cost more than a demo or a game noone with touch with a stick. Accept it.

And yes if you think you can split the bundles failry go ahead. I'll ask you after a month or two how many low level games you sold for a split price.

There is no requirement of even splits in this group. The only requirement is no profit. As long as the total of all the games is equal to or less than the bundle price, it's good. You are NEVER going to see even splits ever again when you have really high-value games in a bundle.

I was talking about all bundles in general.I have split bundles before and never charged more for higher prices game I alwasys split cost of bundle divided by each game.Yes some games I sell lower then split just to move them. That is not a huge issue giving how cheap the games already are.

I get why people do it your reply does nothing but answer what I already know.Accept what?

Also I have split several bundles and got rid of low level games at a lower cost but I have never charged more then split cost..I do not need to know why people do it the way they do now I already know that.

I know there is no requirement I guess my title was a bit misleading. Why I joined this site and how it turned out well that is life.Sometimes you expect one thing and get another.I do find though when it is mostly okish stuff people tend to do a real split but one high cost game and that changes the split.

I doubt I would ever see a true split cost from most people for obvious reason.I was just curious as to what others thought about true split cost.I deal with how it works even know it is not my version of a split cost.

In the end I was just curious of why no real split cost regardless if required or not.I mean other then the obvious reason of people trying to max return.

I really feel like the answer is known to you already even though you made this thread.

When i buy a bundle that hast multiple tiers i calculate the prices seperated by tier (as required). If i then see (for example) the tier has 3 games with two of them bundled for dozens of times and the third being new to a bundle, i will increase the price tag for that game and decrease it for the other two games (so that the sum of the prices equals the price of the tier the games were in).

Otherwise - as stated before by kristijanH - a lucky bastard gets the new, rare games for a very decent price; meanwhile i'm sitting on the other games for eternity.

Thats no problem. You can enforce the fulfillment of your vision to all other members of this group. Just follow these simple steps:

1) Buy the bundle yourself (i suggest Humble Monthlys, as they will provide maximum satisfaction in the next steps)
2) create Bundle Split threads for each bundle you buy (in the right subforum)
3) sell a tiny part of your bundle to some lucky bastards by using this calculation: (for bundles with seperate tiers: adapt to fit group rules)
4) see how half of the bundle will be yours. forever. even if you did not want any of these leftovers.
