First Impressions
Not much discussion right now so I'll try and get it started.

So far I'm am very excited for this game, I haven't had the oppertunity to play against another player but just testing the schools and theroycrafting has been entertaining.

There are a few things I'd like to address though.

First I feel like the Fire School is going to be dominant and for good reasons, its the most fun to play.

You can knock your self up similar to rocket jumping in quake and that combined with "blink" abilities can get you some great distance. Not only is the knock up useful for moving yourself around the map but it will provide great combo oppertunies on opponents. All of that badass goodness is made even better by the MASSIVE meteor strike AoE ulti.

I think rather then nerf Fire's potential for movement and combos other classes should have the same oppertunity. I think the earth school is a good example of what I'm talking about. Right now there are 2 moves that just hurl big ass rocks at people. I think if earth were to get a spell that makes a pillar of eath raise out of the ground that can be used as a quick cover/ a way to boost yourself/ a way to knock up an opponent for combo its would add another level of depth to the school(class?)

Second and I know most of the schools aren't in yet but it would be nice to see a good variety of spelll effects, things you wouldn't expect from a FPS game that could help set it apart from other games. Things such as blinds, slows, and maybe debuffs or some kinda of spell synergy that lets teammates playing different schools combo with your school.

For example if you hit someone with a spell from the water(ice?) school for the next 3 seconds the target takes increased lightning damage, or one of the lighting attacks is now able to apply a SHORT blind effect on the targets screen forcing them to take cover and also helps take pressure of a teammate being focus fired.

I'll have more un-solicited opinions as the game unfolds and I get to try some PvP. But right now as a fan of games like Quake Live and Darkfall Online you have my interest and support and I'm looking forward to seeing what this game can become

Thank you for the awesome feedback! We really like the idea of classes directly working together with spell synergy and you have a lot of great ideas there (I especially like the "pillar of earth" spell) for how we could implment it. One thing we really want is for each class to feel unique and have ways that they can work together to create different results they wouldnt be able to get on their own.

Funny that you mention Darkfall as Chan and I met Kyle while playing Unholy Wars. We are fans of that game (despite is flaws) and hope to bring some of the excitment of Darkfalls combat to Grimoire.

I hope you can make it to tomorrows event or one in the future as I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've had a chance to play in a full server. Thanks again for the great feedback!
