Building a DRPG/Blobber/Gridder List
Hi, I just wanted to share a DRPG/Blobber/Gridder list I've been working on for a while now. It's got about 1100 different games identified.

A lot of people get surprised by that number, but the list includes a lot of ancient games, japanese freeware, adult titles, and plenty of doujin/indies. The basic rule is that the game has grid like movement and is RPG'ish. There are a few games that bend those rules, maybe less than 10.

I'm currently working on filling in the details of the different games such as combat type, auto-map style, and more. I've got almost 300 games mostly documented.

My long term goal is to make some books and maybe a website.

If you notice any games missing or want to help, let me know. There are plenty of systems I may have not even explored yet. Twitter is probably the easiest way to send infos, see below.

I've received some help along the way. @Gr4uk3n was very helpful in providing details on a lot of classics.

Here's the link: http://drpgbook.com
I publish updates and screenshots on Twitter, @drpgbook

Sounds like a cool project. Are you going PC-only or including all consoles?

All consoles for the list.

This is a great list, a few I've never heard of. A little difficult to sort out the quality games from the fluff, but still a great resource.

Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been focusing effort on the "Distribution" column. By filtering this column to "Retail" and "Indie" you'll be able to focus on the more popular games for English speakers. This will help with the quality levels. Although, there are some real gems in the freeware too.

Most of the Doujin and Freeware games are Japanese, although there are plenty of non-Japanese freeware games too. Textractor helps in translating the Japanese games.

Here's a big thread I made. Unfortunately, it is missing some of the details that you are looking for, but it may be useful to you: https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=12113

Man, BT4 was such a disappointment. Even after the director's cut.

Thanks for this list! There's actually a couple I hadn't heard of here.
