Eco League Week 1 has begun and Team GNK started off the season without their main starter Punk. Hootie then decided to have Ricky step up to fill in the void. GNK started off shaky the 1st 6 rounds of the match by going 1-5 against Synthesis Gaming. Losing all the pistol rounds as a CT set off Hootie. They also lost 2 of the next 3 rounds. After watching the first 6 rounds, it looked like the match belonged to Synthesis Gaming. With the team looking bad and out of sync, Hootie had to be more vocal to get the team in the same page. With his vocal leadership, the team started feeding off and responded quite well by taking 8 of the next 9 rounds led by shibby, bano and kevin, shutting the Synthesis Gaming DOWN!!! Team GNK showed resiliency by coming back and ending the 1st half score of 9-6 in favor of Team GNK.

Team GNK had momentum moving on to the 2nd half. With the help of Ricky's strat calling, they took all the pistol rounds 3-0. Synthesis Gaming showed heart by winning the next 3 rounds tying team GNK in second half 3-3. Team GNK knew that they needed to play smarter and to work on picks on the 7th rounds because they knew that round was big for them. Bano and Shibby then responded big that round getting 2K's each making it 4-3 them. The momentum was clearly on Team GNK's side as they shut down the other team after 6th round, tallying 12-3 final score in second half in favor of Team GNK.
