If you've been following the GMT news and announcements, you'll know that there are plans to rebuild the tower in Unreal 4, with a projected launch date of December 2015.

The new game, "Tower Unite" will be $15 and while it will feature the same gamemodes, the maps, physics, models and characters will be completely rebuilt.

In other words, GMT golf as we know it will cease to exist in about a year. I created this group because I love *this* current version of the game. Unreal Engine simply doesn't have the feel Source does. I have decided I will most likelly not be purchasing the game. As a direct result of this, this group will become obsolete at the release date of Tower Unite, and will host no other potential events, contests, or updates.

I need your guys' help deciding what to do with this group. I have thought of a couple options.

1) If one of you plans to purchase the new Tower game and continue to play the minigolf game on it, I will turn this group over to you.

2) When the GMT servers are shut down, I will lock this group from adding new members and simply abandon it.

I know nobody is really active on this group other than me. And that's okay, that's what I expected. I had some hopes to create a general feeling of comraderie, but I was never very optimistic about it. I know most of you just joined the group then never went back to it again. Hell, half the reason I made the group is so I could proudly display it on my Steam profile. This group was always more for my sake than other people's. It was just nice to be in charge of something small, to own something, regardless of how trivial and unimportant it is. I never expected it to be a community of active members. I never held many illusions about that.

That's why I'm leaning towards option 2. I'm not stupid, I'm well aware that the odds of someone caring enough to "take over" the group are slim. I think a lot of us just like having it as a feather in our cap- a nice little acknowledgement that we're all pretty good at something fun. An in-joke to be proud of, no matter how little it is. I didn't invite most of you because you were amazing and could kick ass and take names at minigolf. A lot of you I added because you clearly loved it as much as I do. This group was always more of a "We love minigolf and are pretty good at it" than a "only the top elite, consistent score-crushing players can apply" group.

Minigolf on GMT is fun, but it's days are numbered. Personally, I'll stay subscribed to the group well after the servers are shut off. A reminder of how much fun it was while it lasted. Please let me know what you guys think. I hope some of you will stay subscribed as well, to remember how much fun we all had playing a great game together.

Hey everybody! Long time no see, hope everyone has been well.
Recently I've found myself playing GMod Tower less and less. To be honest, I really preferred the old Lobby map. The new one just doesn't have the same feel to it.

Because of this, I find myself completely uninterested in decorating my condo in-game. Now, as I've amassed a decent amount of in-game items, I currently have lots of high-value stuff siting in my trunk, completely unused.

So I decided I'm just going to give it all away. I will keep my potions, bone modifiers, wearables, playermodels, and pets but literally everything else in my inventory is going to be up for grabs. There's some pretty neat stuff. Pianos, three or four TV's, about 22 lightsabers, dozens and dozens of posters, about 20 stuffed animals, presents, jetpacks, cat sacks, rave/disco balls, trains, and at least one of every single special holiday item including at least two of every firework, plus countless assorted small knicknacks and furniture. Oh, and about 150k in GMC if I recall correctly.

I still love Minigolf and will continue to play- it's basically the only reason I've been on the tower as long as I have. But I have little interest in the new lobby map.

My plan was to log on to the tower one day and just make the announcement, but I wanted to let you guys have first dibs if you're interested. Let me know if you're interested and we'll pick a date for the big giveaway. First come, first serve. Just to be clear, this is NOT an auction, a sale, a trade, or a contest. I'm just liquidating my entire GMT trunk, no strings attached.

Hey everybody- I decided to try and host an unofficial Minigolf tournament. Since coordinating schedules would be virtually impossible, here's how it would work:

Each player, sometime between now and Christmas day, will be able to submit their best score from each of the Minigolf maps, there being five in total- one score for Waterhole, one for Sand Bar, Moon, Karafuru Gardens, and Snowfall. The submission will be in the form of a screenshot of the scoreboard after the 18th hole.

At the end of the tournament, each member's five scores will be added together. Whoever has the lowest total score will win. I will create a discussion where you can post your submissions.

Rules

-You can submit as many screenshots from as many rounds as you want for all of the maps. If you post a good score, then end up doing even better on the same map later, you can make the better score your new submission.

-No retroactive screenshots- meaning the screenshot can't have been taken before this date. New scores only.

-Try to get a timestamp in the screenshot if you can, but other than that I'm using the honor system.

-It must be one submission for each of the five maps. You cannot do the same map twice and use them both as submissions to replace a different map's score. I realize that you cannot always control which map gets picked, but I think a month is long enough to ensure that you can play each one at some point.

-I am ineligible to win the tournament. Even if I end up having the lowest score, the second place winner below me would become the first place winner, etc

Prizes
-1st place wins a playable piano and a GMT Xmas tree
-2nd place wins an Xmas tree and snowman
-3rd place wins a snowman
-Everyone who participates, that is everyone who submits one score for each of the five maps, will win a small holiday item regardless of finishing rank.

Tonight around 9:30 I'll be on the second server tower to play golf- hope to see some of you there.
