Found the issue thanks. I had to put files into lua/autorun.

I am making a swep that makes screenspace effects in Gmod, but I am unable to trigger any effects whatsoever. No error messages, it just doesnt work. I added a print and nothing is printing so I am assuming it is not even entering the function. There is a hook.Add("RenderScreenspaceEffects","rendering" function() DrawSobel(20) print("asdsda") end) and nothing is happening. I put this hook into cl_init. under garrysmod>addons>addonname>lua. Please assist how can I make it happen.

I have had water artifacts from lighting and ligthmap settings. I still do not know how to add custom entities into hammer for use :) That would be a nice addon to the list.

Yea, that does sound like an issue on their end. Ask them to delete the models and textures, join a server which works, and they will download the newest modified model and texture files.

Dear Ryan, this looks like an outdated model issue with the UV maps being different than the model you made textures for. Please ask them if they have the latest (or same even) version of the car on the server. You may also send your model to the server to try it with that.

Of course most of the time the best is to photograph your own textures, then run it through crazybump :P

In case you would like to make your own normal maps, there is another way than using tools such as gimp or crazybump. You may want to look into modeling the actual asset in blender, and baking normals onto a texture, then you can use it as a normal map. For example, at grass, what you can do, is make a grassy plane in blender with the particle system, have a camera positioned above in ortographic mode, and then render the normal pass. After that you can tile the texture and you have a normal map for grass. It is kind of a more extreme option, but it does work a lot of times when props are being made.

I like the material for the orange tiles, however the rest seem to have overkill normalmap, and the grass looks like a sort of organic material that resembles creep from StarCraft2, that slimy unstable soil.
What I would suggest is the following:

On the grass, try to have linear normal with even distribution, or grass patches with even distribution.

For the colored tiles, I would personally tone down the bump intensity, or made it with less noise. There is another option, there are many anti-slip tiles that feature a motif, such as flowers, or waves, or some sort of other figure which acts as the anti-slip.

Thus I am not able to comment on that.

Welcome to the hub. Sadlythere are more parts to this than it seems. Coding the SWEP is one thing, but for it to work as you would like to, one might need to familiarize themselves with compiling/decompiling models (for adding the custom animation sequence to the postures file), animating in your desierd 3D software, particle editor for the effects, and coding in LUA. Also most of these are broken up to many parts. If you are serious about this project, I would recommend the following:
Step 1: Create a basic swep. Understand how it works. There is a very nice tutorial on swep creation on the wiki. Here: https://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Chair_Throwing_Gun

Step 2: Start small. Create an animated prop with a couple of bones in blender/maya/3dsMax which ever you have available (if none, then Blender is free to use). Learn how to handle animations, and how to pose bones. Then export and compile the model so you can import it to Gmod.

Step3: Get sourceSDK from your library->tools. You may want to read about player model animations and sequences, and adding custom sequences.

Step4: Get things all together. Make the jumping animation in your desired software, and assign it to a posture so every character will be able to use it. Try adding it into the SWEP using the GetOwner():SetAnimation(num) functions. See if that works.

There are many more steps for total completion, this is just a little rundown of what you should expect. I hope you succeed!
