[mapping] Skybox messed up, and no water textures!
So im working on a fairly large map. Pushing the limits of what hammer or source engine can take, at this point.

However i've run into a problem i dont seem able to get out of. As far as I can tell (not extremely experienced mapper) hammer isnt outputting any errors that should cause this, and there is not a leak generating a leak pointfile.

Basically, after the compile succeeds, im able to load up the map and play on it. However, water textures are missing, and the skybox is half-see through. Where i can see other parts of the map through the skybox. Keep in mind the skybox texture is still visible.

I do have a few clues what it might be from the log, as theres a couple of > 100%s
But those are > 100% on my other maps without them having this problem.



If anyone has run into a problem like this, please help me out.

You may have hit the brush limit which probably is not the case or you may be compiling it wrong. Try compiling a different way. I am also not that good of a mapper so I am not that great. @Props may have a quick answer lol.

FindPortalSide: Couldn't find a good match for which brush to assign to a portal near (4096.0 -9858.2 -15719.5) Leaf 0 contents: Leaf 1 contents: CONTENTS_SOLID viscontents (node 0 contents ^ node 1 contents): CONTENTS_SOLID This means that none of the brushes in leaf 0 or 1 that touches the portal has CONTENTS_SOLID Check for a huge brush enclosing the coordinates above that has contents CONTENTS_SOLID Candidate brush IDs: Brush 246030:

This is the issue. Go to Brush Number 246030 and correct it.

Thanks for the response! Sadly tho, the issue wasnt this simple. I fixed the brush, and other errors showing up on the "check map for problems" windows. But to no avail, the result is still the same, can be seen here:
