The Door of Future's Past Present
It's been said that there was a spiritual ghost that flies around the world searching for those who have a negative personality for more than a year. Derik, however, doesn't believe in that; for he'd rather not listen to the tale and not socialize at all. Derik was an average fifteen year old teenager who hated society. He hated it very much that he never communicated nor participate in anything at all. However, despite his gray personality, he was a handsome person. Many female classmates of Derik liked him, but Derik never liked anyone. He hated himself because he thought he's the reason why his parents divorced, his best friend began to hate him, his brother committed suicide, and found out he was being used by other students in his school to do stuff for them. He always knew that his life wasn't worth life anymore, that he'd rather die than live.
Derik wore a black T-shirt and black jeans. His hairstyle... Well, he never combed his hair at all. He was a white male-- 157 centimeters tall and had blue eyes--and had a nasty personality. During the afternoon, Derik looked outside from his house and watched little kids play together with glee. He sighed as his mother approached him. Derik's house was medium-sized. It consisted of a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and three rooms at the second floor. His house contained wooden porcelain tiles, and had white plaster walls. He was standing on his knees on the soft mattress of the couch, which comforted his knees. He was holding his head with his hand because he was bored.
"Derik," his mother said. "Why don't you hang out with your friends?" Derik sighed and groaned instantly as he turned to his mom.
"Mom, I don't even have friends," Derik answered. "Why do you care so much about me?"
"Because we are a family."
"A family?! Dad left us, and Mark committed suicide because of me! I don't deserve anyone!"
Derik turned back at the window with a bored expression. His mother was about to say something, but she left him alone without a word as she went back to the kitchen. Derik stood and went to his room upstairs.
His room wasn't decorated that much. It was blank and dull, and left no feeling about his room. No one can tell who Derik really was long ago. Derik jumped and landed on his bed with his body faced on it. He grumbled loudly similar to an immature child complaining but quietly. Derik had nothing to do in his house, but look around. Derik got up and opened his door...
Instead of the hallway to down stairs, it opened a mystical see-through layer of water. Derik was almost surprised. He touched the layer, and it vibrated. This must be a portal. Derik thought. He put his entire arm inside, and it went through. Derik then entered the portal, and the door shut behind him as he entered. Derik looked back and found no handle. It was a room that was pure white. Derik tried to stay calm, and expected something to happen.
A small shining blue orb was floating in the air and it approached Derik, which startled him. It circled around Derik, who assumed that it was observing Derik. The shiny blue orb stopped in front of Derik, and floated around the borderless white room and dropped shining feathers that landed on the floor. The feathers made Derik's room, which was almost as real to Derik, except it was 2D.
"What's this?" Derik questioned loudly. The blue orb stopped and approached Derik slowly. "Hey you, what is--" The blue orb said something Derik couldn't understand. "Say again? I can't hear--"
"The Future's Past Present." said the blue orb. Derik made a bewildered expression.
"The heck is that? That's not even real."
"Oh yes it is," the blue orb explained. It had a voice of a soft feminine female. "I am the oracle of the Future's Past Present. I am here to warn the dangers of your future, and help you prevent the dangers from occuring." Derik watched as the blue orb floated around the room again. It dropped shiny feathers and more things began to generate quickly. There was Derik's room, which had Derik sleeping on the bed, and him being bossy and mean to others in a classroom. His classroom had white porcelain tiles, and a carpet wall. He sat next to the window, and Derik saw himself slap a girl's wrist. The girl he saw ran away from Derik, as Derik looked back outside the window.
"This is what you are now Derik," the oracle explained. "You are a dull and selfish young person. How will this endanger you, you ask?" Derik watched as the oracle began to generate a new room. This time, he saw an older version of himself who was cornered in a street corner. Derik's future self was more mature, and had torn clothes. He was laying on the floor helpless, while there were three men beating him up.
"Why am I..?" Derik asked.
"Because nobody will like you," the oracle answered. "Your attitude toward to others is nothing but a disturbance. You will be hated a lot, and because of that, you will be jobless due to lack of social skills." Derik's hesitated to feel hurt inside, because he didn't want to reveal his feelings. "You do know I know how you feel." Derik then stood straight and started to breathe normally like a mature person.
The blue orb began to float around again and show more future pain for Derik. There was Derik who was in the street showing a "donate me" sign. There was Derik who visited his mother's grave, who will die of cancer. Derik felt slightly gloomed.
The blue orb began to float around and drop brightly shiny feathers that were gold. The room generated to a park, where young Derik could be seen with his older brother. They were happy, and having fun walking around.
"Mark, what do you want to be when you grow up?" young Derik asked. Mark shrugged his shoulders while he smiled.
"I dunno," Mark replied. "What about you?"
"I want to be like dad!"
"Oh really, that is.. nice."
The words, "I want to be like dad" echoed in Derik's head. He tried to touch Mark, but his hand went through. He saw Mark and himself talk to each other and laugh. He watched as Mark and his young self walk passed by him. The park faded, and Derik saw his birthday party when he turned six.
The birthday party was in his house, which was lively decorated with color and happiness. Derik saw a kid walk through him to the table. The kid had a brownish-black hair, and wore a yellow and blue T-shirt with a birthday hat.
"Happy Birthday, Derik!" the child cried. The words echoed in Derik's head. Derik felt a candle lit in his heart, something that enabled him to feel his complex positive feelings.
"Derik! We bought you a gift!" another child said. Young Derik was standing on a stool, and grabbed the birthday present the child offered. Derik watched as Young Derik opened it.
"Wow! So cool! Thanks guys!" Young Derik cried gleefully. Derik saw that he was given an electric toy monster truck. Derik realized the monster truck in his room from nine years ago was his friend, Ruri. She and Derik knew each other ever since they were born. Derik remembered that Ruri had to leave Derik when he turned seven because of family problems.
The room began to fade away, and a new room was generated. This time, Derik was with his father watching T.V. His father looked a bit similar to Derik, but his father had shorter hair.
"Dad, what are you watching?" Young Derik asked. His father laughed slightly as young Derik sat next to his father. Derik joined young Derik, and listened.
"Haha, well son, it's called foot ball!" His father answered. Confused, Young Derik rotated his head slightly.
"Foot ball?" Young Derik asked.
"Well, yes!"
"But they're not using their feet?"
"Well, it's because we don't ride horses when we play foot ball, but play on the ground with our feet, son."
"Oh really?"
"Yes! It's true."
His father patted young Derik as they watched American Foot Ball on the T.V. The room began to fade, and Derik fell off the couch that was fading. The blue orb appeared in front of Derik.
"Feel happy, my friend." encouraged the oracle. "Your life is not over yet. In fact, you only spent one sixth of your life! You still have a long way to go!" A tear fell on Derik's face as he stood still frozen. It was a miracle in the first time in six years, a tear had fall on him. Derik was no longer in despair. Derik's vision began to blur and whiten...
Derik woke up in his room. He sat on his bed quickly, and inspected his face by touching his face. It was dried. Derik quickly stood on his feet and opened his window. He saw two classmates riding their bikes, and it caught them their attention to Derik, who peeked outside the window.
"Hey guys! Can I join you?" Derik asked. The two students looked and nodded at each other. One was a girl and a boy.
"Sure!" said the male student. "Feel free to join us, but promise you won't be mean to us!" The female student giggled in a teasing way.
"Well, if you go out with me," answered the female student, "then yes! You can bike with us!" The male student elbowed the female student, and apparently, Derik could assume they were brother and sister. Derik quickly closed his window, and went down stairs quickly. He put on his shoes, and was about to exit the front door.
"Derik, where are you going?" his mother asked as she noticed.
"Mom! I'm going to go bike!" Derik responded gleefully. His mother smiled proudly at her son.
"Well, feel free to go ahead, boy."

It looks like Derik has made friends in the first six years. His mother thought. Mark would be happy if he was here.

Introduction - Preview
On November 18th, 2023, a mysterious virus appeared on Earth. The virus was highly contagious and lethal. Scientist called the virus, "Silenta" which was named after the first victim's death of the virus. The virus contained mysterious genetic material, and had some proteins within the shell of the virus. Many people feared the virus because of its ability to silently spread. The virus was only transmitted via through bodily fluids which were saliva, sweat, tears, urine, and etc. Those who became infected only showed symptoms of high fever, dehydration, and psychosis within fifteen days. Since the virus was epidemic and pandemic, government officials placed funds on cures to eradicate the virus. Since it'd take almost a century to develop a vaccine, scientists and researchers have developed a vaccine to limit the spread of the virus. In addition, government officials have also set strict hygiene rules to limit the spread of the virus further.
Present Day - Chapter 1
Caleb, a thirteen year old teenager, woke up in his room. Caleb had black hair and wore blue pajamas. He was a white half-Japanese and American person. The way his room was designed had wooden porcelain tiles, and simply a white plaster wall. Caleb had a working desk with an electric LED desktop lamp, and pencil holders on it. He also had a computer desktop for playing games and research. His bed simply had an average soft mattress within a bed frame. He also had two pillows and a cotton blanket to keep himself comfortable while in the bed. Next to his bed was a small table stand to keep his clock and a working hologram calendar.
While still in bed, Caleb turned to the calendar and pressed the button to show the day. It was October 8, 2063. Caleb groaned a little as the sunlight shined brightly through his window, and covered his face with his pillow and never wanted to see the sun shine very bright to hurt his eyes. Caleb decided to snooze a little for his eyes to adjust to the bright light he could still see through his pillow.
Twenty three minutes later, Caleb was woken by the sound of his door bell downstairs. Since his bed was at the upper center of his room, his door was at the right corner. Caleb didn't want to have visitors be impatient, so he quickly got up and rushed downstairs, even though he was fatigued. As Caleb reached the first floor of his house, he almost slipped as he put on his slippers fast. Quickly, he sprinted to the door and opened the door without checking who is outside. He was greeted by his friend, Chris who looked like who was in a good mood. Chris wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans. He came to meet up with his friend, Caleb who were friends for seven years.
"Hey dude," Chris greeted. "You don't look good, are you okay?" Caleb shook his head as a response.
"Eh, I just woke up at the wrong side of the bed." Caleb groaned. "What are you doing this up this early?" Chris made a confused expression, and snickered.
"What do you mean? It's literally almost afternoon!"
"Wow, I didn't know that. Anyway, come in."
Caleb yawned as he walked to the kitchen followed by Chris. Chris shut and locked the door as he got in because Caleb forgot to. Something caught Chris's eye as he followed Caleb. Caleb opened the fridge without keeping an eye on Chris.
"So, what do you want--"
"Why do you have a girl in your house?" Chris questioned. Caleb closed the fridge and walked to Chris.
"Where?" Caleb questioned back. Chris pointed at the living room next to the kitchen. The kitchen and the living room were connected. However, the living room was at the other side of the kitchen, which meant that it's obvious you can tell which is the living room or kitchen. Caleb rubbed his eyes, to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. A girl almost the same age as Caleb and Chris was looking outside the window. She was next to two couches against the wall, and had light pale skin. "What is she doing here?" Caleb walked cautiously to her as she kept her eye on the outside. The girl had long white hair, and blue pupils. She wore a white T-shirt and pajamas. Her hair is a rare color Caleb thought. Chris watched Caleb make his way next to the girl. Caleb approached her carefully as he tried to make not much noise when sneaking. The girl noticed Caleb and looked at him with innocent eyes. The wind blew across her hair as she looked at him, which caught Caleb's heart. He'd never felt so struck by her beauty. Who is this girl..? And why? Caleb thought to himself. No.. Don't be struck by her attractiveness! Caleb shook his head and sighed.
"Well, seems like you caught me," Caleb admitted. "What are you doing in my house?" No response from the girl. She kept looking at Caleb.
"Hello?" Caleb questioned her. "Are you going to explain or not?" No response from the girl. Chris laughed at the back as he watched Caleb communicate with the girl. Chris clapped his hands sarcastically.
"Hah, it looks like it's your first time communicating with a girl!" Chris teased. Caleb turned to Chris with anger.
"Hey, shut up!" Caleb shouted. "It's not my fault not socializing with girls!" Caleb's mother walked downstairs and yawned. Caleb's mother had black-brownish hair, and wore a green T-shirt, and pink pajama pants. She looked at Caleb with a stern look.
"Caleb," Caleb's mother said. "What's with the shouting?" Caleb froze and looked at his mom. He scratched the back of his head while embarrassed.
"Well, you see--"
"Caleb has a girlfriend!" Chris teased once again. "She's over there!" The girl looked at Caleb's mom with innocent eyes while her body was still faced to the window. Her expression didn't change.
"Hey, I do not!" Caleb protested.
"Yes you do! You told me that you do 'things' with her every night!"
"You're going too far!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Caleb's mother yelled across the living room and kitchen. "CHRIS, GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE." Chris unlocked the door and went outside and giggled. He shut the door and kept giggling. Meanwhile, Caleb was feared that he would get in trouble. Caleb's mother walked to Caleb and pouted her arms. "Caleb, who is this 'girlfriend' of yours?" Caleb gulped. He had no explanation because he just met her for around five minutes. Caleb sighed.
"I don't know," Caleb told the truth. "I swear, she's someone I don't know." The girl turned to Caleb and stared at him.
"She's a weird person from what I can tell." Caleb added. Caleb's mother smiled.
"Well, she does look like your childhood friend before she died." Caleb's mother described the girl.
"You mean Ruri?" Caleb asked. Caleb's mother nodded. "You're right, but I don't know who this person is. Like she could be those terrorist spies--"
"Don't say that to our guests!"
"Fine, mom."
As the girl kept staring at Caleb, Caleb began to sweat heavily as he began to feel more paranoid. Caleb's mother went back upstairs to sleep, while Caleb stood there frozen. What is wrong with this girl? Mom couldn't even do anything about it! Caleb thought slyly to himself. Caleb walked to the door and locked it. He went back upstairs to play computer games. He entered his room, and was about to close the door. Before he closed the door, the girl was at his door.
"Oh yeah, about you..." Caleb realized. "Stay in my room until mom has something to say about you." The girl walked into Caleb's room. Caleb looked at the time, which read 12:58 P.M. "What's your name, by the way?" No response from the girl. "Alright then, I'll guess I'll just call you Kirisa since it probably matches you." Kirisa looked around Caleb's room. A picture frame caught her attention and she approached it slowly. Caleb sat down and turned to her with his rotatable office chair as he relaxed on it. "What are you doing?" Kirisa picked up the picture frame and observed it closely. The picture frame had a young two year old Caleb, his sister, and his father and mother. His father, was deceased which meant he died. Caleb had no idea how his father died, but his sister, however, was attending college. Caleb turned on his computer and waited for it to boot. Thirty seconds later, it booted, and he turned back and saw Kirisa looking around his room while holding the picture frame. Caleb then heard something outside his window. He got up to check and saw Chris waving at him. Kirisa joined him and saw Chris. Caleb then heard his mom exit her room and go down stairs to cook food. Caleb rarely eats breakfast due to his gray and dull personality. Caleb sat on his rotatable chair and faced the computer. He entered his password and access was granted to his desktop. Kirisa approached Caleb as he didn't notice her next to him.
"Ca...leb?" Kirisa attempted to pronounce. "De...sktop?" Caleb looked at Kirisa's reflection through his monitor, and smiled slightly.
"So you can speak?" Caleb asked. Kirisa nodded sliightly. "What is your name?" Kirisa shrugged her shoulders. Caleb looked back at his computer and put his hand on his computer mouse. He opened a web browser application, and continued off in his Silenta research he was assigned two days ago. Kirisa approached her head closer to the monitor so she can see the tiny words displayed on his monitor. "What are you--"
" Silenta: The Past-Pandemic Virus," Kirisa read out loud.
"Yeah, Silenta is a virus that still infects people today. It's not nearly extinct but infection rates are low." Kirisa mumbled to herself that Caleb couldn't hear her. He didn't mind what she mumbled.
"Well, you can see that I'm doing research on this because I was assigned," Caleb explained. "It's not like I wanted to do the research." She smells nice when she's this close, what the heck? Caleb thought when he sniffed slightly on her head. Where the heck is she even from? "I think you have amnesia, Kirisa." Kirisa moved away without a word and started to observe Caleb's room more.
Chapter 2 - School Days
A few days have passed ever since Kirisa began to live in Caleb's home. Caleb's mother decided that Kirisa should live with them to know the basis of life. Caleb taught Kirisa manners, while Caleb's mother taught her proper hygiene and etiquette. When Caleb left for school, he'd make sure Kirisa wouldn't follow him so he won't face the embarrassment at school. Caleb may seem emotionless slightly, but his feelings are inside. Sometimes, he admits his feelings, sometimes he doesn't. Ever since Kirisa started living with them, Caleb had a feeling that Kirisa slept in his sister's room.
On October 11, 2063, Caleb woke up by his alarm, and started to dress for school. He left his room, but his mother caught him sneaking.
"Where do you think you're going, young man?" Caleb's mother asked. Caleb froze as his mother turned on the lights. "It's literally four in morning."
"I'm going to school." Caleb answered. Caleb's school started at eight o' clock in the morning. He had planned to go to Chris's house before school.
"Well, if you are going to school, why not bring, uh." Caleb's mother forgot her name. "I think it was Kirisa or something?"
"Yeah, Kirisa."
"Well, anyway, she'll go to school with you."
"Why?"
"She doesn't know how to read."
When Caleb heard that, he silently giggled inside. He thought it was funny because people who had amnesia would not forget how to read.
When it was around six o' clock in the morning, Caleb was busy watching T.V. down stairs. He was watching Family Guy, while eating a bag of potato chips. Kirisa walked down stairs and went to Caleb; she blocked Caleb from seeing the television.
"What are you doing?" Caleb questioned.
"School." Kirisa responded. Yet, she didn't make any sense to Caleb.
"You want to go to school?" Caleb corrected. Kirisa nodded. Caleb grabbed the television remote, and turned off the television. Kirisa and Caleb went to the front door to put their shoes on. Caleb grabbed his backpack and another backpack for Kirisa. He gives the other backpack to Kirisa, and she holds on to it. Kirisa looked at her backpack with a bewildered look. "It's a backpack. Put it on your back by using the strap." Caleb demonstrated Kirisa on how to put on a backpack. Kirisa got it, and they then exit the house, and walked to school.
On their way to school, Chris joins Caleb with a bored expression. Caleb and Chris greeted each other by high fiving each other's hands. Kirisa watched them greet each other as she stopped.
"Hey, so how's the girl?" Chris asked. "Did you do anything to her?"
"Not really, she's doing fine, so far." Caleb replied. "Mom contacted Ms. Dulabar so that I have to sit next to this 'girl' everyday." Caleb pointed at Kirisa. "Also, I gave her a name, which is 'Kirisa.'"
"Oh, nice. People would mistake you two as a couple, though," Chris said. "I mean like, your mother tasked you to tutor Kirisa."
"Not only that, but people would also spread rumors since I'm not that social." Caleb added as he shrugged his shoulders as he didn't care.
Later, Caleb, Kirisa, and Chris arrive at school. Their school was humongous. The school symbolized lizards, and had a nice design. The entrance to the school had a decent parking lot. There was a long row of cars, because a lot of students came to the school. Luckily, they lived close to the school, so there was no need to use a car. Caleb checked his watch, which read 7:21 A.M. It took almost an hour to go to their school by foot, but with enough time management, they made it in time. Since the school had no uniform, students were free to wear anything that isn't revealing. Kirisa wore blue jeans, and his sister's old purple T-shirt which fitted Kirisa perfectly. Chris wore the same clothes, but wore a gray and white striped shirt. Caleb wore a green T-shirt, and black jeans. Students wouldn't mind Kirisa being a new student, right?
Chris smiled proudly in front of the school, and said, "Our new adventure starts here!"
But little do they know, Kirisa wasn't human, but the source of the Silenta virus as well. Thankfully, the government required everyone to be vaccinated against the Silenta virus. Will Caleb not realize Kirisa's true identity? Will Kirisa be able to hide her true self from public?

To be continued...
