2 years since Funkytown closed!

Hello boys and girls, I just wanna notify you that today it's been two years since funkytown closed.

I also want to make it clear to everyone, that we have no intentions of a reopening.

One of the biggest problems in HNS today, as far as I know, is the lack of a real ruleset. From my perspective I hear people complaining about other people who's complaining about them. So everyone's kind of complaining about something.

I'd like to advice you to join in to this discussion and let your voice be heard:

This is what HNS needs. HNS can not make it in the long run if not a ruleset is applied within the scene. So wether you are a pro player or a newbie who just started, I think it's very important that you try to think about all perspectives for a functional game and state your opinion.

Wether it's running, lameflashing, headjumping, campingspots or wallbugging, it's important that your voice is heard.

I want to make one thing clear about one of the most loose rules in HNS. Running is a way of avoiding combat without doing any tricks other than bhopping, it's a way of gaining valuable seconds without getting in harms way. A lot of people are constantly complaining about this. Without a solution to this problem HNS stands a much poorer game, where if dictated wrong could be fatal.

My solution is quite simple. ALLOW ALL TYPE OF RUN. That's would be the ultimate way of fixing this critical point. I can almost only see positive gainings from doing this. First of all it would remove all complains about running. It would add a lot more freedom to a game that has so many strict and unwritten rules that it's so hard for a newbie to feel welcome - And I think that scares away a lot of new players.
Secondly I think it would make teamwork a much more effective way of playing HNS. Communication and teamwork would become the biggest asset your team could gain, making HNS a bit more tactical.
And last I don't think that people would just start running, because when moving so much around eventually you'll run into someone, if there's just the slightest bit of communication on the other team.

Basicly what my ultimate theory about hns has always been, it is that the fewer rules, the more freedom, the better game. With one exception, and that is blocking.

What I've written above ONLY oblige to 5on5 cw's and pcw's.

That was all, I hope to see you joining the debate. And I hope 2012 will be a healthy year for HNS where we see a lot more people on the scene.

Hello readers.

Today I've decided to close down funkytown. The match against NESC won't be played after all, some top nesc players have left the clan and we can no longer find the motivation to stay active as a topclan. Therefor I have decided that from today Funkytown will close.

I have a few words to say about each funkytown player:

SVENNy: SVENNy it's been a pleasure playing with you. Every match we've played together, from the first funkytown CW to the last, has been the best CW's for me because we've been so good together playing tactically every round for hundreds of rounds alltogether. You are a good friend and what I have enjoyed even more has been our communication together.

XanO: You are the most talented HNS player I have ever met, the youngest player in Funkytown but nontheless a brother. You're great mood and your norweigan fjeldminister skills has been a keyelement in the succes of Funkytown, and I think all put together you are the person who has won the most rounds for Funkytown ever. You have been a great friend and a reason for us staying together for so long. Like the glue keep us together.

Reavap: In my eyes you are the greatest player of all time by far. You have evolved the game so many times and always stayed on top, your moves and your mindset are perfect for HNS and your inner perfectionist have kept your able to stay on the top for years now. You are a great friend and I hope you will lose your shyness as age progresses. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" - I believe that _you_ can do anything you set your mind to!

zEPEKINo: It's been a pleasure playing with you. Newer times in funkytown will hold you accountable for the big victories we've won. I see you as a very smart person who I've enjoyed playing with. You're a funny guy and I know you have been a great friend to everyone in Funkytown. I hope you find whatever you are looking for. But always remember "He who complains the most, accomplish the least."

Fabbs: The man, the myth, the legend. You haven't played a match for us for so many months, but still you are just as much a part of Funkytown as any above. We've had so many great memories together, thanks a lot. I've enjoyed every conversation I've ever had with you, thanks for the time we shared!

KEKlolz: The standin. Never really got to play with us, but nonetheless you've been a great friend, and your sarcasm will always make me laugh... noot.... Jokes aside, I hope you find a great clan in the future because you deserve the best, you are one of the most skilled players atm. and I hope you will find a clan who will be in need of your skills a bit more than we were. But anyways thanks a lot for all the time you've been in funkytown.

I will never forget you guys. Thanks for all the time we've shared and for all we've accomplished together. One love.
