Uberforce has grown a bit as a community recently, and I think it's time that we need some clarification on the rules. The MOTD lists some basic guidelines, but I feel these need expanding on:

1. Don't be a ♥♥♥♥. This includes, but is certainly not limited to:

• Bigoted, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, disrespectful or otherwise ♥♥♥♥♥♥ language and attitudes towards any of our users, regulars or not.
  
• Using any of our servers including TF2, Mumble or others as a platform to engage in any illegal activity, harassment or other immoral and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ behavior, whether any of this type of activity is directed inside or outside the community. We are not that kind of community. I'm not here to police the scummy things you choose to do in your free time, but you will refrain from doing it on any of our servers.
  
• Alienating any of our users on any level at all, whether it's personal, because you think it's funny, or otherwise. This will absolutely not be tolerated.
  
• Micspamming too loud, over top of other users, or when the majority of the server has told you to stop. If you're not sure, just don't bother, we can live without it.

2. 18+ only on voice chat. If you're under 18, you're free to play with us, but I'd prefer the younger members of our community don't talk on mic. It's nothing personal. If you can get away without sounding like a squeaker, you're probably fine too.

3. Keep the rage to a minimum. This includes complaining about weapons, playstyles, new players, etc. Discussion is welcome, if you're clearly having fun while "raging" then that's fine too, but genuinely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitudes and berating anyone for anything they've done in game is childish and unacceptable.


These are the rules as you should understand them. That's all common sense stuff, but you know what they say about common sense. It should also be explicitly stated that nobody is immune from these rules - this includes regulars, donators, staff and friends of staff including any moderators and administrators. The rules are also subject to change at any time without notice.

It's the end of raffles as you know it! A new year, a new format. We'll now be running our weekly raffle events through TF2R.com. A brief explanation as to why, and how this benefits you.

The why: Our current format is extremely time consuming for the admins running the raffle, and often times winners are difficult to track down. By using TF2R.com, our admins can focus on other duties, and only those people who have specifically entered the raffle are eligible.

How this benefits you: If you actually want to win something, you'll have a better chance at it. We'll also be doing a unique raffle each week, instead of carrying over tickets throughout the month. Basically what this means is you'll no longer be losing a raffle to someone who played 10 minutes on the server 3 weeks ago. This format is also much easier to understand. You just click a button to enter and you're done.

Quick update:

So I've noticed a few of you have been banned from TF2R for having the same IP, and the users in question I know just share the same household - do not fret, there is a very simple appeal process on TF2R's steam group located here.

Please fill this out if you've been banned for this reason. I'd hate for any of our users to miss out on raffles for something so simple. If you've been banned for any other reason, go here.

So here's a quick refresher course in how our raffles work: Game time is your friend. 10 minutes of game time is equal to one raffle ticket. Being a group member is equal to five raffle tickets. Successfully inviting a friend to the group counts as 2.5 raffle tickets. We raffle usually once a week, with the big ticket item (the pizza) being given away at the end of the month.

Got it? You'd better, otherwise it'll affect your chances of winning free pizza. Other raffles and door prizes for our events this month are undecided and will be changing rapidly, I'm sure. So come hang out, because you never know what we'll be giving out! (other than the pizza)
