"Suggestions section" of the forums anybody?
Hi guys!

To be not so much visible to those fanboy-troll-hordes, i wanna post the following idea over here.

I opened a ticket about this current steam store banner for VR, being an obvious trigger for health issues for some of us. I wanted to get the contact data from the person in charge of it.

They´ll contact the departement in charge, they say.

What´s maybe more interesting: they suggested to post future ideas or suggestions into this specific section of the forums, which as “This forum is regularly read by Valve's development team.“

We could try to start posting there. It will be important to stay very “clean” In our posts, and to avoid discussions with trolls over there, I suppose.

Do you guys know this corner of the forums?

"This forum is regularly read by Valve's development team" is only a legend.
I've used to check that forum often and never see any activity by Valve. Also i didn't see any of the suggestion being implemented in Steam. It's like throwing rocks in a pond.

Anyway, trying to suggest something in that forum is always a possibility, but beware... the kind of users we are used to known are rampant there, with a lot of now ex moderators.

BTW. Where did you see that image ? I never see it (but i never check the store).

Good to know, thanks for the warning!

That image is a full screen animation, trying to look like flying into space. Kind of the Millenium Falcon, when it goes to lightspeed in Star Wars. I see it nearly every time, when i start my client, as the store is the first thing the client displays to me.

As we are talking, i found out, i can set the default to something else, to display my library instead of that pesky store page, which will make things a bit less annoying, i hope... but just a little bit.

From today on, i don´t have to see the store anymore, unless i want to... which is a step forward for me...

It's possible for them to be lurking, but yeah, they rarely actually post, except to close threads lately.

There have been some suggestions implemented by Valve. (Against the predictions of some of the then-regulars on Steam, sometimes.) These include:
* letting people disable the censors
* letting people not see forum posts from people they've blocked
* reimplementing Small Mode after the 2019 UI update

Good to know they actually added in Small Mode when they made the regular mode unusable. It's been the only way I can use Steam for half a year now.
