Ah, that's not quite what I meant-- Maybe I can rephrase my question:

When I select "Dbl Blk" on Marcus, he has access to every Black Magic spell
( http://i.imgur.com/FizhWOG.jpg ) , and they're all white and available to use. I want to change that to act like the normal Blk Mag command-- Meaning, the black magic spells they learn appear there insteald of simply being available from the get go, and unavailable spells will simply not appear on the menu until learned, that way he doesn't start out with these crazy spells and such-- Does that make sense?

It does it with the Blu Mag command as well ( http://i.imgur.com/o0Uxu6Ur.jpg ) . Is it because I don't have any abilities setup for these characters?
Ahh that's what you meant, thank you for elaborting your question.

To your question the answer is yes, because of the fact that Marcus, Blank and Cinna have nothing. Thus simply just putting in the command of choice on their command list they will have all of the skills that command comes with, if their abilities chart is empty cause all 48 are void which is why they can use the spells or skills on the get go. Which is why I said you must be creative of putting the spells and support abilities as creative as you can be, if you want Marcus to be a Red Mage you have to be picky on which spells he is only allow to use and therefore having the equipments having the spells you want him to learn so he can use them during battle and which white magic you want him to use also out of battle.

Hope my answer gives you a clear understanding on what you have to do basically. :)

It does, thanks!

Is that level of modification possible at the moment?

Also, I'm trying to make Marcus and Blank a little more unique. Is there a way to change what kinds of weapons they can equip?

Could I add a damage formula to the SFX abilities?

Sorry, I have a lot of questions.
Lol its alright! Asking questions like that is no problem, I would believe it is possible. I mean the other FF games like 3 to 6 got mod's that let you change sprites.

Weeeell, I guess you could let them equip the staves, Zidane's sword daggers? Monk claws? Quina's forks? You just need to go into the FINAL FANTASY IX folder which should be put into Steam/steamapps/common and you'll see all your game steam folders. When you have Memoria patched in you need to open the data folder, then Items and last the Items microsoft excel document. If you actually don't have excel thats alright, cause you can open it with WordPad or Notepad and begin replacing the 0's with 1 that falls under Blank and Marcus, of course you could make Beatrix equip all of the broadswords.

Yes you can make the SFX do damage instead if you wanna make them hurt, of course when you fight Steiner on the stage and he mocks them for not being able to hurt him would make it funny. But to change that, I'm not sure what do you open to make that change. Memoria doesn't make it easy for those who wanna change things besides the Battle, Characters, and Items.

Thanks for the reply. My last question (for now) is: I know where I can edit the abilities of party members, but can we take trance commands and set them for use outside of trance? For example, Dbl Blk and Dbl Wht
